So, I thought this was the weakest episode so far this season. That's not really a criticism though. The show has just been that good. Liv Tyler has that creepy Mona Lisa smile down. I was flat scared of her pretty much the entire episode. And if someone doesn't give Tommy some genuine human affection soon I'm going to lose it. That boy needs to be loved. The episode needed Carrie Coon.

This episode was so fucking weird and amazing! It had a real "Join the Club" (The Sopranos) feel to me at first, but then the weirdness went to another level. Btw, Justin Theroux is super ripped! Him and Jennifer Aniston are quite a hot couple. So, I read something stupid about those two in a magazine the other day when I was waiting for an appointment. Apparently according to "sources close" to them, they like to dine nude. Sounds potentially dangerous.

Fuck, The average viewership of this season is less than half of what it was in S1. I really hope they renew it for a third season because it's a phenomenal show.

I think this will be it, unfortunately.

I think this will be it, unfortunately. There's hope like Jack said since it didn't say series finale and it also depends how well the finale does, but I guess HBO might have Westworld, TD, or The Devil You Know take its place.

Vinyl as well. Honestly, True Detective getting renewed after a pretty weak second season over The Leftovers would really piss me off.

Well Vinyl is premiering in February so I doubt it would take The Leftovers spot. It would piss me off too, but unfortunately it's likely because of TD's viewership.

Yeah, I didn't mean take it's actual time slot, just that it's another hour long drama that HBO will have.

I think it had The Sopranos, The Wire, Deadwood, Six Feet Under, and Rome on rotation in one year. The point being they could still find a way to keep The Leftovers.

Only just got to watch the latest episode, another blinder. I know it's frustrating not seeing great characters for episodes at a time but I've really loved this type of storytelling. Kind of like lots of short stories that layer into a bigger one, they've balanced it incredibly well. It's what I think certain other shows with large ensembles should go for more but probably wouldn't have the craft to pull it off (*ahem* Walking Dead).
I have a feeling it won't get cancelled by the way, if any network would keep it on it's HBO, they have history with running poorly rated shows that get great critical reception. It's also a talking point kind of show that's a much bigger internet presence. I think HBO will be onto that.

HBO regretted that a ton though when they saw the DVD sales those two shows raked in. By then it was too late. So I think they're not too eager to make that same mistake. Though, that said, the market's very different now, so maybe DVDs aren't bring in anywhere near as much as they would've in the mid-2000s. Still, I don't think ratings is all that concerns them. A show getting consistently good reviews is something they enjoy as well.
