It was a bit confusing, but I was intrigued. I kind of didn't expect for them to focus on the new characters that much, but it worked. What did you think of the premiere?

Glad they took the time to introduce the Murphy's. Was a big fan of the first season, so I'm looking forward seeing where this goes. Also love the new intro..."Let the mystery be".

There seems to be a lot more mysteries this season in a good way and they definitely made the Murphy's into interesting characters. The opening cavewoman sequence has to mean something later I assume.

That was really good. A lot of mysteries set up, though I doubt even half of them will be resolved given the nature of this show. And strange that Anne Dowd's still in the main credits. How she'll figure into the season with her character being dead and all, I don't know.
Like last year it focuses on corners of the show we didn't think it would. Though here more surprisingly by focusing on characters we've never met before at all. It'd be jarring but I think the Murphys were pretty quickly compelling, especially John who seems like a pretty nasty dude in a lot of ways.
I don't think the end of the episode was meant to mean there've been more departures though. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with that fat guy who was taking samples of the water and saw the girls at the beginning of the episode. Both the water and the girls disappeared, so I'm fairly certain he's involved in some way. It fits anyways.

Loved the premier. I also went right to the guy taking the water samples at the end, although I think it could also be tied into the scene where Evie "went away". That shit wasn't epilepsy. Kevin did the same thing in their house. Really like the actor playing John too.

Probably because he has a bit of Mike Epps vibe going on.

Just finished it. That was so gutsy, opening with...what...cave people, then focusing on an entirely new place and family for almost the entire episode. It worked for me too, though. I'm glad you guys liked it. I honestly expected everyone to hate it. I love the scene where Nora and company came in and then Kevin strutted in to that music. So, did you guys think Evie and her friends vanished? I thought they fell down into the cave where the cave woman's family was killed in a cave-in. Cave.

It's one of those shows where you really have to pay close attention to details. It does have a Lost vibe with the twists and mysteries, since it's one of the same writers, but I think this season has more potential than the last. I'm not sure if Evie and her friends vanished, but I think they either fell down into the cave and were maybe went back in time. The entire cavewoman sequence definitely has some importance, which I hope is explained later on.

I think it's possible the cave woman sequence had actual, physical significance that could point to some plot mystery. I also think it's entirely possible and maybe probable that it only had symbolic significance. I'm still thinking about all that: the cave, the baby, the snake bite, the hawk, the springs, the earthquake. She sacrificed her life for her baby, and it paid off because someone came by and found it. What does that mean?

Does the town Miracle get it's name from the cavewoman sequence. It's a miracle that she survived the cave-in, a miracle that she gave birth, and a miracle that the baby was found after she died.

I saw someone else point out that the girls car doors were locked and music was still on inside the car.

I saw someone else point out that the girls car doors were locked and music was still on inside the car. That was odd. I rewatched the beginning sequence, and it wasn't the cave-in that they fell into. It was close by, of course. So, now I'm thinking departure too.
