We certainly could get only part of the flashback with the rest held for later, but I think we'll get Lyanna this season.
Maybe it's because I've been playing that scene in my mind since some time in 2002, but I would be very dissatisfied with a TOJ that didn't include her, even though technically, they could do that and still convey the info, that couldn't convey the same emotion and weight. Ned agreed to lie to his best friend, his wife, ruin his good name, all for his sister. She must have been terrified. Damn it, I'm gonna make myself cry. (Sappy over here.)

Questions regarding Lyanna, will she have big puppy dog brown eyes like Jon or is she going to look like Arya like in the books? Other people may not care about this or even think it's nitpicking, but I really want for the casting to make sense since genetics are so important to solving mysteries about lineage in the series. Either Rhaeger needs to be a brown-eyed Targaryan, which would be really weird and probably impossible, or Lyanna needs to have brown eyes.

I think most of us have forgiven the actors their eye-color since they never went with the book canon stuff from the start. Although I agree it might be odd for Lyanna to also have blue eyes since Kit/Jon has brown. His "little brown stranger eyes" were also an iconic line from Catelyn's memorable story to Talisa. Rhaegar as a brown eyed Targ is less likely than Lyanna as a brown eyed Stark is my guess.

What do people think her age would be in this scenario? Everyone is aged up on the show. Ed is about 10 years younger than he was in the books, I think, but Lyanna could be any age they want to make her. It wouldn't make sense for her to be very old and not yet married to Robert. In the world of Westeros, she would probably be married off pretty young.
Edit: Who the fuck is Ed? "_Ned_ is 10 years _older_ than he was in the books," I meant.

I expect they would cast a young adult woman for the role and just leave her age ambiguous. So many of the actresses who in my mind fit Lyanna's description could pass for older teenage girls anyways.

She should be aged up like everybody else, but it would be odd for a women in her mid-30s to run off with a lover when she should be married and have several children all ready by that point.

A lot of the actresses I like have already aged out of the role, I think. My guess for why we haven't heard about casting is they have someone in mind for her.

I've had a few favorite actresses in mind (esp when I watch fan tribute vidoes to her on youtube) but I think I've decided Katie McGrath would be Lyanna perfection.

Katie McGrath is 32, which I guess isn't so far out of the age range, but I've also seen some people suggest Kaya Scodelario to play Lyanna.

I've seen someone suggesting Lily Collins and it's stuck in my head since then. I don't know about her acting abilities though.

It's true, she's older - but not so old it would look weird esp. if they brought back Sean Bean and tried to make him look more youthful. Kaya is beautiful, but her features seem so delicate/thin to me ... I guess I look to the Stark women to have those strong-boned Stark features!

If Lyanna's in the sequence (and I can't imagine her not being of course BUT there hasn't been a casting call) she probably will be played by an unknown.

Does starring in the next Pirates of the Carribean count as unknown? Because Kaya Scodelario will. (Why do we need a fifth one anyways?)

As much as I like Katie, she's a bigger name actor and ToJ is going to be one scene only at most so I doubt they'll cast someone well known for the role.

Ned remembers the line "Promise me Ned" in a foggy haze. Anyone care to spell out the actual dialogue that they have? Oh they don't? Good enough.
The ToJ scene is the confrontation with the Kingsguard outside the Tower. Everything else afterwards is stuff fans have made up in their head.

I saw a couple of people also suggest Daisy Ridley who is going to be in the new Star Wars movie, but yeah it probably will be an unknown. If they were doing more with Lyanna, which we have no idea yet, they might have gotten someone more recognizable.

I think Katie is a perfect Lyanna too. However, those pesky blue eyes! P-) A good choice if they go with a known actress would be Adelaide Kane from Reign. (I watched a few eps of the show for a bit because it has its charms, but I couldn't handle the high-school romance and complete lack of historical accuracy.)

Pretty sure you come over here from AFOIAF from time to time and spread some turds of negativity and then leave again.

It's not negativity when it's based on fact. There has been zero indication that they're looking to cast Lyanna and a role like that has an extremely strong likelihood of being part of the big 2 casting calls that leaked some time ago.
Add that to the fact that the scene does not require her to be there in order for them to do it and that's the assumption we should all have around the scene unless we hear something different. Focus on the fact that Sean Bean should probably be coming back and we're going to reportedly get an amazing fight. That's the scene. Lyanna is just incidental and easily cuttable if that's what they want to do.
I've followed this show in the offseason for long enough now to know how these things tend to work.
