Oh and on LSH (spoilering this because if you haven't seen episode 4 you really don't want to read this): Despite what Feldman, the author of the Meereenese Blot said, there has been nothing to suggest that LSH is cut, except that Brienne outside of Moat Caillin.
In fact, the fact she is going off road now in spooky neck territory, into areas no one ever goes, means LSH could pop up unexpectedly in E5, even. So the only argument for LS being cut is still 'she is cut because she is not in the show [yet]'?

The fact Brienne explicitly says they're going off road around the Moat, through spooky neck territory, into areas no one ever goes, means LSH could even pop up randomly in Episode 5.
I'll take it!

That was soooooooooooooo moving. I could almost hear the book dialogue in Maisie's head.....Needle was WF and it's people.........Needle was......Jon Snow's smile. I do think it was one of THE most powerful scenes so far, with all the hub bub of secret epis and book changes, it so far isn't getting much attention. It is feeling pretty true to the books so far, too, so it's maybe not getting all the talk. But, I remembered a review as I was watching, talking about being reminded of what a terrific actress the Young Ms Williams is......and it MUST be this scene. So PERFECT!! I wouldn't say it was perfect, but it was definitely one of the best.I wish she whispered a very teary-eyed, broken "...Jon..." after a few seconds of staring at the sword. I felt in that moment, where she was getting ready to get rid of the sword, her internal struggle of whether or not to throw it away would be so powerful that she couldn't keep it totally inside, and it would just come out. The moment that she realized she couldn't hold it in would be the moment that she knew she couldn't throw it away. But that's just me. Oh, I was probably engaging in hyperbole, but what I meant was that Maisie's face perfectly communicated all of that book dialogue that I could actually see, hear, and feel.......while I watched her with Needle. I thought she did beautifully.

In summary, there's nothing to suggest LSH is cut yet. Viewers will still see what they want to see. Some see that she is out, some see that she is still in. It just depends on your subjective, interpretation bias.

Maisie looked so young when she was throwing her stuff away. I know she has quite a young face anyway but she looked super young in that scene especially when she was holding Needle and having an internal battle about what to do with it. That was soooooooooooooo moving. I could almost hear the book dialogue in Maisie's head.....Needle was WF and it's people.........Needle was......Jon Snow's smile. Konradsmith, you asked me about the music cue that caught my attention during a small council meeting. It is when Cersei sends Mace off to Braavos. Littlefinger's theme starts when she mentions that Ser Meryn will escort him. Rewatching it, Qyburn is quite pleased by sending Mace away. There are two reaction shots of him smiling at this development. The following scene is between Cersei and the High Sparrow when she rearms the Faith Militant, but it starts with a shot of Littlefinger's message back to Cersei with his mockingbird sigil on it.

As far as King's Landing / Winterfell goes, I think what they're doing is flipping the complexities of these storylines to give their established characters more screentime. King's Landing becomes a dynamic of a whole bunch of factions vying for power, and Winterfell becomes a straight forward thing with a Sansa subline. I'm not sure if that really works though, because you have one faction just take over quickly with everyone trying to figure out how to deal with it, while Winterfell was more about building and building and building and then boom. Yeah, WF in the books was the powderkeg waiting to blow. I remember someone over at Westeros pointing out how the WF as ticking time bomb was almost it's own character and that it would probably be missing just from us knowing all the story changes, missing characters. I thought it was a very astute post. I'm too tired to do it justice, but yes.......without all the varying Lords and soldiers of complicated and questionable loyalties, a lot will be missing, I fear. KL I'm already just concentrating on actors I can enjoy because the story is just......altered in such a heavy handed modern way, IMO. That may be more irritating than I suspected WF would be. No wonder I'm scene hopping, LOL.

Just watching Episode 2, I get incredibly irked when something happens that doesnt jive with me. In the Brienne Littlefinger Brothel meeting, should not Brienne have been captured immediately? She basically said Sansa Starks name out loud....thats pretty egregious when who knows who was listening in the apparently really popular Inn at the Crossroads, how many Hedge Knights looking to get Sansa's Bounty.... the OOC and easily leading to plot hole stuff really baffles me about D&D's writing. This is Arya Stark announcing herself to everyone at the Bloody gate all over again. It only happens with show invented material ofcourse but ugh...

Poor Barry. This has been the best day of my life. I don't have much nitpicks except what is going on with Mel and Jon and also dislike the Brienne arc for obvious reasons. Loving Meereen this season

Okay, very random thoughts: - The most important thing first: Holy shit, THAT Stannis/Shireen scene! I have watched it now about 100 times probably, and I am still aaaaawwww-ing, and MY FEEELZ-ing and sobbing every time, soooooo beautiful and touching and moving and incredible... 10000000 s to Stephen and Kerry, that was simply WOW! So well written and acted, my new favourite scene! - Another scene I loved: Shireen/Gilly/Sam in the library! Loved to see Shireen teaching Gilly how to read, and the talk about greyscale, aso. - I'm surprised I have to admit: The Meereen storyline is wonderful in S5, IMO, and has really many great scenes: Dany/Daario, twice Dany/Barry, Dany/dragons, Dany/execution, aso. Loved to hear Barry talking about Aerys and Rhaegar, and Show!Daario is just SO much better than Book!Daario, and Emilia does a great job so far, I think. - I think I loved everything so far with Jon and Stannis! Loved their scenes together, the dialogues, Stephen and Kit are doing wonderful jobs with their dynamics; I also loved the scenes of each own; Wall + Meereen = for me so far the 1# places/storylines. - Little!Cersei nailed her scenes so much, the simply perfect child actress! - Loved to see Roose owning EVERYBODY around him, he's the boss and I'd give everything to see him just flaying LF & Ramsay. - Talking about those two: When, to fucking fuck, did LF lose all his brain?!? I couldn't stop laughing during his scene with Rams a la "She's so loving", "She has suffered enough", "Oh, I'll be very nice, I won't hurt her", "I don't know you well..." - Oh, for fuck's sake, you're the guy who had syp-on-syp fights with Varys in S1, and now you really don't know Ramsay is NOT a nice lad?! - Also, LF whole plan is really beyond stupid, I was facepalming when he told Sansa... who must have lost some brain cells as well to agree with something like that. - Although Reek really hadn't any dialogue so far, Alfie just killed it with his looks, body language, mimic, aso.! - When it comes to Arya and Tyrion, it's mostly how I expected it and imagined things. Not suuper-thrilling, but nice scenes, some really wonderful and moving, like Arya hiding Needle. - Dorne is also as I expected: VERY meeh so far. Ellaria is the absolute exact opposite of her book counterpart, the SS seem cheesy, I liked Doran though. - Jaime and Bronn is fun so far, as always. I still love Bronn's humour and Jaime's fight with the Dornish guard. But I have no clue where it's leading to... - Brienne... Oh holy shit, WHY DID YOU LOOK AT THAT DAMN FIRE SO MUCH WHILE TALKING ABOUT KILLING STANNIS?!?! (*inner streaming*) Or actually, looking at and poking in that fire... I fear for foreshadowing... Okay, more random thoughts (especially about KL) in my next post... ETA: I somehow completely forgot to mention Mance and Kevan, who I praise very much!

I defo think Brienne is going to kill Stannis this season. There has to be some pay off for her arc since LSH is not in it

I'm still not super concerned about Stannis this season unless we magically have a battle they didn't put in the promo.

Super random thoughts #2: - Okay, KL... KL feels just very strange and weird and mostly awkward to me. What I enjoy definitely the most: Qyburn and the High Sparrow. Anton Lesser and Jonathan Pryce are stealing the show, I'd watch a whole Qyburn spin-off and the HS is great to far. - But the portrayal of the Faith Militant, eeeehhh... They made it look like a cliche cult / inquisition which is now hunting down gays and destroying brothels and taverns (okay, I already knew that, can't say I'm surprised). - I also have a new """favourite""" (remarking my sarcasm) brothel scene: The High Septon and his Seven holy whores. - The whole Cersei/Marg/Tommen dynamic is completely changed and I fear fucked up. I seriously feel Show!Marg is like a better Cersei than Show!Cersei, Natalie and Lena are still great and do well in their scenes, but I dunno what to think about them+Tommen on the show... In fact, I still don't know what to think about the post-coitus Marg/Tommen scene... It's like a mixture of super-weird, awkward, cringeworthy, somehow cute and "GODDAMMIT, he's 8 in the books!!!" - sooo... that was now really pretty random, to cut a long story short: Wall: LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT! (My Mannis ) Meereen: LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT! KL: eeeeehh.... What have you done to this storyline? Winterfell: Roose is on the loose, The Roose is the boss! Reek is silent, Ramsay tries to be silent; LF + Sansa lost their brains, they feel SO out-of-place and "Why am I here? Do I belong here"-y Dorne: Meeeeeh... Nobody wants to crown Myrcella, but so sent her fingers, one by one, to her mom. Braavos: I like it much, Maisie's great, Tom, too! Pentos/Volantis: Beside Varys being a Dany-supporter, great Tyrion/Varys dialogues as always, Peter and Conleth and Iain very good as always BriPod: NOOOOOOooooo....oooo.... (Sorry for this random-ness and surely hundreds of spelling/grammar mistakes)
