not much Davos he has one nice scene with Jon where he tries to convince him that he can protect the north from the Boltons and keep his nw oath (something along those lines) Thank you Marcus! It's nice they have a scene considering they don't even meet in the books. Looking forward to it! Jon/Mel dynamic is both good in some places and totally awkward in others. Their scene riding up to the wall about the "Lord's Fire" is good. Jon's line to her about "a vision in the flames," is good. The nudity stuff is weird. I'd rather have them use a bit of Mel's material from her ADWD chapter. It would have been far more interesting for them to strike up some kind of friend/assistant relationship than her saying "hey, fuck me," cuz I don't even understand why she wants that to further Stannis' cause. I guess Mel is just hot with the Lord's fire for Jon. Davos and Jon is interesting, but it didn't really serve a purpose - It was just kind of "here's my opinion if you want it." Olly is rather creepily present for it as well. There are several lines in succession to start that scene where Jon tells Stannis he's grooming Olly for command that just shoulda been cut. Stannis' explanation in feels very "Ermm, why are you even saying this. I know what you're doing. It's a parallel to your stuff in S1." It comes off as Dave Hill just throwing it in there like... he wants to talk about Olly, cuz Olly is his boy. Cutting those lines just to slow the scene down a bit would have helped with pacing. Stuff moves so fast. IMO, there's a lot of interesting stuff and the episodes are very entertaining - but there's not a lot of powerful stuff. Meereen is definitely the arc that they've rearranged to have each scene feel powerful and interesting. KL is interesting, yet boring because it's the most rushed and confusing. It feels like there should be more scenes there but there just aren't. Brienne's story about her past to Pod in E2 or E3 was one of my most favorite moments. Nobody IIRC talked about it but it's as great if not better than the Stannis/Shireen scene, and I'm pretty sure it's show only.

Edd is now essentially Background Night's Watchman #34. I dislike Daario intensely in the books but show Daario is definetely much more likeable. Show!Daario is stealing the show in several scenes. His scenes also have some of the most room to breathe, which really helps.

Then again, I'm still hop, skipping, jumping, and reloading all over the place, trying not to lose the footage, LOL

I'm really not feeling the KL stuff. Margaery comes off to me as relaly dumb which she never quite was before. Cersei now has actual power, it was always tempered before by Tyrion or Tywin, it's not now. Yet Marge is still goading her, which seems really a silly thing to do. Especially as her father is being sent away as well. Also Tommen seems like he's stuck with an eight year old mind in his older sexually active body. If they are going to make him older let him act older, he acts like a little boy.
It seemed like they just made him older so there could be consummation. But that then messes up why Margaery is arrested, and it also changes the dynamic with Cersei. In the books Cersei is looking at many years of power in the show she's not, it'll only be fleeting before Tommen takes over. It all doesn't quite work for me.

I know I said I didn't think Brienne and Pod set fire to Stannis' tents. However, the monologue while STARINGLY MEANINGFULLY at the fire has be reconsidering that view.

Well, even if it is here setting fire to a tent isn't the same as managing to assassinate him. I haven't watched all the episodes just bits and pieces so I like to think Stannis is safe this season, but also makes me wonder what kind of battle we'll get. Melisandre makes a point to say to Jon he needs to come with them as he knows all the entrances/tunnels etc. So hmm Sansa and Theon showing up in Stanni's camp (or at least Theon). I fear greatly that SOMETHING terrible is going to happen to Shireen (I'm just uncertain whether it will be R'hllor related or greyscale-related). Gilly's story about her sisters with greyscale and how they were treated combined with Selyse telling her that for all her books she knows nothing of what people will do...is ominous.

Just gahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh That scene was absolutely killer. So well-written and acted. When he returned the hug my soul died a little from the perfection of it.

I think that and being tired as hell just helped me get through Batman :batman: and Sansa in the crypts. Which, I found strange.....Harrenhal mention, but not really being.....as much detail as I thought. If anyone here wants to know about it, ask.

I hope most if not all of you will watch the episodes again as they air since it would be in HD on a bigger screen.

The most bizarre thing to me about the entire season so far is the best Cersei scene doesn't even have Lena in it.

Best scene in first 4 eps for you guys who saw them? I am catching up with this thread. I am a sucker for small council scenes, so the first one where Kevan tells Cersei off is probably my favorite. I am so glad Ian Gelder came back.

Plus, I haven't really done one straight in a row. I am still hopping all around. I will watch and dvr as they air.....but, at least I know if I wind up tired as hell one Sunday in the next few weeks, I already have a basic gist of lots of things. I'm finding with some.......keeping the picture shrunk is best.
