They can fit him back in without it been too out of place. They have confirmed that Greatjon wasnt at the RW in the show and is still alive and loose out there. Theres been little mention of Robbs remnants forces in the Riverlands who are surely drifting back home. In the books the remnants of Roderick Cassels siege force was hiding in the wolfswood, it wouldnt be a massive stretch for them to pop up in a similar manner. I dont think most fans will disect the story too much if they said that Blackfish regrouped with Greatjon and warned him about the freys and boltons and theyve been in hiding or resisting the Lannisters... something like that. Hell if they said they joined with Beric and Thoros thats even better. Yes, good points all around. I am still really disappointed they didn't at least explain some of this in Season 5. Would it have taken so much effort for them to insert a little of this during that "Map Scene" between Roose and Ramsay where all we got was "Give me 20 good men!" smirky shit from Ramsay? 3 extra sentences from Roose could have at least confirmed some of those points you brought up and helped remind folks these people DO exist. When we got old lady in WF with "The North Remembers" and old guy at the Inn with Brienne, I got excited we were going to see some sort of underground North rebellion thing going on and that would include those houses secretly NOT loyal to the Boltons. Insert that juxtaposed with Roose explaining his doubts about some of the house loyalties in that map scene and boom, perfect set up for the Northern Lords return in Season 6. Again, they dropped the ball on this just eliminating it entirely from the whole season. I'm sure Greyjoy fans feel the same about that side of the map too though. Agreed. Now the Northern conspiracy doesn't feel so powerful. Surely the Northern lords didn't just chill out and do nothing when Sansa Stark is a captive in WF. Brienne should have conspired with some Northern lords to free Sansa. So much potential wasted. The Greyjoy situation is a bigger mess..

I dunno. I think it was smart of them to wait, especially when you consider that Rickon isn't in Skagos on the show; he's in the Last Hearth. So waiting to see if Stan or the Boltons triumph before deciding who to side with is a pretty decent move when you have the heir to the North in your pocket. Just like LF, they can move against whoever wins. Rickon already being the ward of a great Northern house makes all the difference in show-canon, I think. But we'll see.

Btw, I doubt the "Father" character is anyone protecting Sansa and Theon. He only has a one line. I'd suppose he's only a Stark loyalist, who Ramsay kills. This prompts Roose to tell him about people fearing him and finally "Peaceful land, a quiet people". He continues and he says "Don't make me rue the day I raped your mother."

Isn't the "Father" supposed to be Randyll Tarly?

Yep, "Father" from the first casting call is Randyll. From the second one it's a minor northern lord part.

What house will this small lord be from? Perhaps a Glover or someone smaller?

I hope this plays when Sansa sees Rickon again btw.
But I suppose this one's more likely.
Really both would be great.

Really both would be great. ..or then we will get something new. We need something similar but a bit more uplifting and happier. The Stark soundtrack is so miserable except the King in the North soundtrack.

I like the idea of a new piece that blends some of the somber heir of winterfell but becomes more upbeat and wild. Rickon will be the wild wolf returned.

Yeah, something new's more likely you're right. Although s5 did have some great musical callback moments, particularly in ep. 508 when the same music played that had played when Luwin found out Bran and Rickon were alive played when Sansa found out the same.

I think the "Father" (the northern one, not Randyll) will be killed by Ramsay.

They could go through the Dreadfort, when has this show ever cared about Geography?

^I doubt they will though. Just like Bran heading northward in s3 was basically just him in the woods until he got to the Gift, I think they'll go the same route here, which makes the more sensible route through the Wolfswood work better.

BTW y'all, I just saw someone on ASOIAF reddit referring to Rickon's possible ascendance to power in the North in TWOW and s6 as "the Rickoning".

If they get the chance, Sansa and Theon should head to the battlefield first to pick up some knives.
