I wonder, if they were planning on using a 'big name' for Randyll Tarly, someone like David Morrissey or Ian McShane, would they even issue a casting call for the part? Would actors of that caliber have to audition to get the part?

So no Victarion? I can't say I won't miss him, but it would probably be better if they merged Euron and Victarion into a super Greyjoy. Let Euron have his cunning and deceit while borrowing Victarion's awesome fighting abilities. It would be great to have Euron in the center of the action instead of just moving the strings from afar, like in the books. Super Greyjoy.

And if it wasn't clear to some, this at least confirms that there won't be fAegon or JonCon in the show.

As Euron I was hoping for Dominic West or James Purefoy, but they are both much darker than the Greyjoys of the show, who all have light brown hair and blue eyes. Any other suggestions for the role? Many people wanted Mads Mikkelsen, but I think his brother Lars would be better for the role. Maybe it would be better to cast a buff actor if they are merging Euron and Victarion.

Seems like D&D are keeping major arcs from the books present, even if modified. And if they remembered the Greyjoys exist, they may as well not have tossed the BwB aside completely.

I can't picture Mikkelsen as Euron, but I heard he'd like to play a character in GoT, IIRC he is friends with NCW. Some people wanted Richard Armitage, but I can't imagine Thorin as Urine Euron.

I always thought Rufus Sewell would be a good fit for GoT, maybe him for Euron? He's 48, I believe.

I'm surprised at no Marwyn yet tbh or any Maesters. But yeah. This is all very good to hear.

I'm still mourning the loss of Vic and Aeron, but Euron confirmed is GREAT news (although Euron/Vic together would have been hilarious, and the whole KM would have made awesome TV), now the real question... Will he look like that: www.deviantart.com/art/asoiaf-Euron-Crow-s-Eye-91907468 ? (<- That's e.g. one of the best Euron/Vic scenes of all)

Someone should contact Hibberd and say he was wrong about there being "no plans" Ironborn storyline being in btw...I mean we're only getting one uncle but that still counts as in.

With Catelyn dying at the end of season 3, it's just too large of a gap to resurrect this character. It's gotta be done by the end of this season or never.

I thought Hibberd just said no Greyjoy storyline in season 5, especially since the showrunners were focusing on Dorne. I could be wrong.

If Riverlands is gonna be in next season and she is not I'm gonna lose my shit so bad... could book 3 epilogue be this season's final scene?
