I had a productive day watching all six episodes and now I’m sad that I have to wait for the last six. My favourite was Kimmy and the Beest. Anyway, on a general not too spoilery note, I would say the overarching theme for this season was inspired by the #MeToo movement and the various Hollywood scandals. As well as explicit references (there is a Weinstein folder on screen at one point) and call backs to earlier seasons (Mr. Frumpus the puppet) there is a lot of tangentially related stuff like the MRA movement, privilege, identity etc. And yet the show still retains its weird, wacky and quirky aesthetic. C.H.E.R.Y.L was a fun addition for example. I look forward to the latter half. I suspect the split was motivated by awards season - releasing the first half when they did makes them eligible for Emmys this year I left off at the DJ Fingablast episode (which I quite liked, as I think it could earn Jon Hamm a guest actor in comedy nod...and it definitely showed how abusers can totally gaslight people)... C.H.E.R.Y.L is a fun character. I like do the documentary episode. And, as a heads up. bobby moynahin(spelling, whatever) appears in later episodes too...think he is great so that was a plus. Also loved Aidy as the Reverend’s girlfriend

Husband and I are rewatching The Sopranos. We have not rewatched since the episodes aired. Curious to see how the show holds up over time (the first season holds up really well. I forgot how well acted and well written the show was from the jump, I find most shows usually need a few episodes to settle in and this one didn't...). stoneheartsrevenge, I finally finished the first half of Kimmy Schmidt and your assessment has been 100% spot on.

stoneheartsrevenge, I want to watch that. Just finished the Sopranos 6 episode of season 2 (with Robert Patrick as the gambling addict school mate friend of Tony's who has son Meadow's age). So to help pay off the gambling debt, Robert Patrick gives Tony his son's car (which kills his friendship with Meadow) and Tony gifts it to Meadow who immediately realizes it's her friend's car and is angry with her father. Like, Tony, WTF were you THINKING??? Trade the damn car in and then give that car to her...THEN NO ONE WOULD HAVE KNOWN IT WAS ERIC'S CAR! I was like, how did this not bother me the first time I watched it??? I'm a better mobster then Tony Soprano!

I started watching Wentworth the other day, very good show. Finishing up season 3.
I can't help but compare it to OITNB since they are both about women's prisons and started at the same time. I think both are really good, but Wentworth has no annoying characters (*cough* Daya *cough*) and actually utilises the guards well, as actual characters, from the start.

OITNB has steadily declined in quality. The trailer for the newest season looks dreadful

OITNB has steadily declined in quality. The trailer for the newest season looks dreadful I remember watching season 1 of OITNB, the cliffhanger was amazing and the wait for season 2 felt like forever. The last season I fully enjoyed was probably season 3.

Update on my Sopranos outrage, I remember why it didn't bug me about Tony giving meadow the car of her friend, Eric. He does bring it up in therapy wondering why he did that...

Robin’s suit look good. That’s the only thing I can say something positive about that abysmal.
Fuck Batman.

Still going through Soprano's Re-watch: OMG I HATE MEADOW. I thought Furio and Silvio had bigger parts then they do so far. It's hard watching Adriana knowing what happens to her.
Am also watching BBC's Bodyguard (don't ask how) with my man Richard Madden and Keeley Hawes and it is EXCELLENT. If you have BBC and can watch it, do so!
Need to watch Sharp Objects, finish up OITNB and will probably watch Amazon's Jack Ryan this weekend (Hello, John Krasinski!)

Me rewatching Hannibal for the fifth time: Since I just mentioned it above, I should add that I think you would love Sharp Objects. Aside from the fact it stars the lovely Amy Adams, it’s an excellent look at small town America and I think you would particularly enjoy the gradual unfolding of psychological horror over the course of the series

Sharp Objects was absolutely perfect and horrifying I started it a couple days ago, and it's really interesting so far. I'm taking my time because I want to enjoy it and because I don't deal very well with self-harm or gory scenes, so far is not much but I'm pretty sure it will get there I'm also watching The Handmaid's Tale, I watched until episode 3, but the ending of the episode had me screaming like a maniac to my tv and thought it was better to give it a rest. In other news, Crazy Ex Girlfriend comes back the 12th of October!!! Too bad it's the final season

I don't know anything about it but I love Amy Adams. Small town psychological horror sounds right up my alley. When I sign back up to HBO I will definitely check it out. And I won't stop until Basil watches Hannibal. We have similar taste and he's enjoyed films I've recommended before, but this show is just criminally underseen. It's a suspenseful and dark psychological thriller with some of the most complex character development and beautiful cinematography I've ever seen in a television drama. And yes it's about two men who are outcasts of society find friendship and love in each other's company.
