Still need to watch Sharp Objects.
Watched first 4 episodes of Jack Ryan (which is crazy as fuck) and John Krasinski gets naked in episode 4 (because that's important). The show has done a good job of making the lead bad guy three dimensional.
Am still watching Bodyguard (seriously UK folks, get in on this one). Madden's been plenty naked in this one. But if Jack Ryan is crazy as fuck, this one is bat shit crazier as fuck. It's like a TV show on steroids.
Watched the Columbus Day episode of the Sopranos. Still hate that episode asides of the plot line of Bobby's grief over his wife (one of the most realistic deaths and response to death the show has done & that I have seen on TV) and Tony's speech to Silvio in the end.

I’m watching the bodyguard too! Great so far, even without Richard Madden. Really great, tense scenes that have me literally leaning towards the screen waiting for the conclusion. Only two episodes in but love it

Only two episodes in but love it I am so glad someone else here is watching it. It is a great show and not just because madden is in it. The show is crazy as fuck and I love it. I mean if someone pulled off Kimberley (anyone here remember Melrose Place?)...I would be like, sign me the fuck up for this nuthouse Jed Mercurio. I just hope no one catches the kind person downloading it on you tube so I can keep watching
FYI: Jack Ryan is just about as nutty. I expect once Cathy finds out the truth she is going to LOSE HER SHIT. (I'm only half way through, I really hope she does).

Finished watching Jack Ryan. It's excellent and totally worth the watch. Especially for the bromance between Wendell Pierce and John Krasinski. Now to wait impatiently for season 2. I would love to see Ali Suliman considered for a supporting actor Emmy next year. Cathy did not lose her shit epic fashion like I hoped she would, she was mad and did give Jack her forgiveness. The only plot line of the show that did not work for me was the solider manning the drones. It had nothing to do with the overall plot of the show. I wonder if the plot was gutted for time but they didn't want to gut two scenes where the actor did a fantastic job.

Although it's a bit weird to just be recreating it as a tv series since I'm not really sure what they're gonna do differently (other than live-action) whereas a movie would force them to condense the story. That's not a complaint, I'm just curious about how similar it'll be.

honestly i don't even care about changing the story or whatever. if they can just remake it in live action with good visuals i will be 100000% satisfied

Remember the last time we got an avatar; the last air bender movie? Careful what you wish for

Finished up Bodyguard (which is coming to Netflix on 10/24), and it was a really good show. despite my love for everything Richard Madden, he should be up for acting awards for this one-he was terrific.
Midway through season 5 of the Sopranos, I forgot what a miserable and nasty person Christopher was.

Its been an excellent series and easily some of Madden’s best work. It will surely be a show that gets recognition at the British awards at least. Killing Eve finally showing in the U.K. and it’s well worth the wait. Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer are fantastic and the writing just effortlessly manages to balance comedy and drama.

British tv awards like the Baftas etc. is pretty much guaranteed at least a nom. These award shows are much more predictable than the Emmys. No chance over in the States though as it was a BBC limited series. The only British show I can think of breaking into the US awards shows was Downton Abbey, which had the awards darling setting (upstairs downstairs British aristocracy) and ran for several seasons, giving it time to accumulate a viewer base

Now that Fear The Walking Dead season 4 is coming to an end this week, I'm finally going to watch it. I have such low expectations for the show now that Gimple is at the helm, but I really am hoping the show is still good - the characters are SO GOOD in this show, especially Madison. That's mainly the reason I didn't watch it as it aired this year, because of how slow TWD Season 4 was when Gimple took over. I'm only on the first episode and already annoyed that they changed the title sequence and theme, it was perfect before. I really like Garret Dillahunt, so hopefully his character is good.
I don't want to go into the TWD thread in case there are Fear spoilers - kingeomer or day dreamer have you been watching Fear Season 4?

Unless Netflix throws some major money behind an ad campaign for it around Emmy time in May/June 2019, I'd be shocked to see Bodyguard nods in the Emmy. I hope British TV does award the show. I don't think anyone has posted in the TWD thread in a while...no spoilers here, but the first half of FWTD season 4 is really great but the second half is not that great at all. Garret Dillahunt and Jenna Elfman are really good in their roles. You will really like Garret's role, he's my favorite in TWD universe.

It’s certainly not a Netflix original so they won’t put any money into a campaign. Even US network television struggles to make a splash a tv the Emmys so I have no hope for the U.K. The first 17 minutes of episode 1 is available on YouTube for anyone who cares to watch. Imo it’s a masterclass in suspense building, and that skill is employed several times throughout the series

I do agree they won't be putting money into this one. I totally agree about watching the first 17 minutes on you tube, it's terrific and the they use that skill well throughout the series. Fingers and toes crossed for BAFTAs!
