It wouldn't be out of nowhere - there is so much material, thematically and symbolically about motherhood in Dany's chapters. Mother of Dragons, Mhysa, her rumination on Mirri's curse, her constant trust in "mother figures" to her detriment, the loss of her own mother and the void that leaves her, the quasi mother/daughter relationship between her and Missandei. There is plenty of material there so that if Dany did have children it wouldn't be out of nowhere. |

I do think she dies for the greater good. Even if she were to go mad, I think she'd have a moment of clarity before her death or something. I agreed on this. I think the show already give hints that Dany is becoming mad. Not like her father of course, but becoming paranoia and fearful due to all the political affairs she went through at Mereen and definitely Viserion's death is going to hit her hard. Heck, even the leak said Tyrion fear Dany is becoming mad. And i won't be surprise that this leads to the whole "treason for love". This is all my speculation btw. |

Only Arya can marry Gendry.  Re: Mad Dany, I feel like there's a chance of it in the books, but zero chance in the show. I feel weird discussing that because I feel like you automatically get labeled a "Dany hater" if you like Mad Dany, but I don't hate her at all. |

Oh, I see what you are getting at now, sorry. I don't think the series will end in a place where we see any potential child continuing the Targ/Stark/Baratheon dynasty. So I'm approaching this purely from the POV of Dany having a child at all, rather than a Targ restoration. That being said, Gendry is a commoner nobody. If a Barstheon bastard is going to continue the dynasty, then the show really dropped the ball by excluding Edric Storm, who has the upbringing and pedigree to be accepted as King. |
