Well said lordcarson! It's taken me some time to adjust to the very subtle changes in Jon Snow since his resurrection, and honestly I think we all needed a little more dialogue between him, Davos, Sansa and Melisandre about the issue. They've glossed over it and I think that's my biggest area of confusion. It was a really big deal but it's being downplayed and I realize it's mostly because of the immediate emergency of the battle ahead but still, just a bit more could have done a lot to help the audience understand his feelings. I never expected Jon to come back a superhero or even like Beric. I guess I expected him to be a lot harder and angrier but not depressed/sad and almost suicidal. That's unexpected for me. Not bad, mind you, just different. I too look forward to hearing he and Melisandre talk. It's long overdue.

I don't think Jon is necessarily saying his "Thousand men don't need to die" line to Ramsay. It could be Sansa? But it's more HYPE if he says it to Rams.

The battle looks amazing but I think I'm most intrigued to see how this discussion between them plays out. This. I find the other characters' (lacking) reaction to Jon's resurrection disturbing; but Jon's own reaction and state of mind is absolutely convincing and very well played (and I'm no big fan of Kit Harrington's acting qualities ). So though I'm absoutely looking forward to Snowbowl, I'm even much more interested in the battle that goes on in Jon Snow's mind. But that's just me - I'd prefer hours of subtle intrigues and character development to zombie avalanches and mad queens nuking whole cities with wildfire any time... though I don't dislike the action scenes at all!

They're submitting this episode to the Emmy's for both Outstanding Writing and Directing for a Drama Series so they must be pretty confident with this one.

Cleganes, Tywin, Roose and Ramsay, Drogo. We've never seen a character who so badly wants to be dead and I think that's what has made me so interested in Jon this season. In a world where its so difficult to survive and people have been forced to do terrible things, Jon just wants to give up but is hanging on for the people who finally want his help and I love how it's tearing him apart internally. It just adds another dimension to what Jon has gone through all his life. He's always been treated differently because he was a bastard but he put up with it and once he was supposed to be respected, he was murdered. He had a chance to finally be something and he's realized he might never have really wanted it. It's intriguing.

I think the Jon problem is that he's not had that many lines since he came back. I think they've reserved it all for Snowbowl.
I reckon after his taste for battle, he'll change after Snowbowl.

I assume it was obvious at this point, but HBO Battle of Odds gives us quasi-confirmation that in next episode Theon and Yara will appear in Meereen and try to make deal/offer help to Daenerys.

So what was 6 storylines at the beginning of season 6 will have been shrunk into 2 by the end of this episode.

What's that? Kind of official HBO GoT game for viewers Edit: Oh and "synopsis" And the only thing similar to synopsis of E9 and 10 what we get:
6.09 Battle of the Bastards: Terms of surrender are rejected and accepted.
6.10 The Winds of Winter: Season Finale. Cersei faces her trial

Why the fuck are there no real synopses?
If they're afraid of the synopses spoiling the episodes, I think "Battl of the Bastards" as a title gives a pretty good idea what this one includes.

Ultimate suspense. We'll be entirely blind (we those of us who haven't betrayed our duty ). I quite like this move.

Lol. The only spoiler they offered is "Cersei faces her trial". Everything else is most likely confidential.

Although i tend to dislike the emo type character, Jon is an exception mainly cause how the show executed his personality post-resurrection. It explained very much on his pessimistic nature given that experienced death in combined with betrayal that took a toll on his philosophy. Honestly, the show imo quit handled his post-resurrection character better than i could come up with. I imagined Jon will go full blown Stannis 2.0.

I think Jon will have a parlay with Ramsay. He will suggest a duel between them "thousands of men don't have to die" and Ramsay will retaliate by bringing out rickon and probably killing him I don't want rickon to die

I think that Jon will try stalling tactics after seeing the promo. I think Sansa is going to tell him about the letter she sent. I think Davos was also in the room with Jon and Sansa in the promo. I wonder if Mel tells them that the weather will stay good for them.
Nearly 2m views on Youtube in 23 hours. That's massive.
