Episode 6x08 title is fairly obvious for this one - indicating the episode's focus will have a lot to do with Arya's return to herself and leaving the Faceless Men training. We saw her retrieve Needle and prepare for the attack she knows is likely coming from The Waif for failing to kill Lady Crane. How do you see this playing out? Will she immediately seek a way to escape Braavos and head back to Westeros or does she still have unfinished business in Essos?
I was so excited to hear her use "Mercy" as her name to Lady Crane. I wanted her to join the troupe as she did in the Mercy chapter even though the kill from that chapter has already been played out differently on the show. Some speculate the acting troupe goes to Westeros and that's how she goes back too. I would like that a lot.

I think this is the waif's test. Jaqen will be satisfied with either of them winning.

So you think maybe if Arya kills The Waif, Jaqen will still take her on as a Faceless Man? But she's obviously not reliable if she has twice now failed to kill the target he commanded her to kill so what's the FM real motive if not as paid assassins?

But don't forget - first we'll get " Arya makes a plan" in the next episode...

But don't forget - first we'll get " Arya makes a plan" in the next episode... Good reminder on that. I'm guessing she devises some sort of trap to get the waif where she wants her instead of just waiting for her to randomly turn up but we won't find out the results of that until this episode in 6x08. My question is, if she was "No One" but isn't now, why call the episode that? I wonder if she doesn't use one of the faces to trick the waif?

My question is, if she was "No One" but isn't now, why call the episode that? Maybe because "No One" really believed SHE would show up anymore?

Perhaps she leaves no one alive?
Imagine this: Waif comes back to Jaqen "I told you she was not worthy." "A girl has told me this already. Did a girl die?" Stabs with Needle. "A girl is Arya of House Stark, and you are no one."
EDIT: And of course she takes off her Waif mask. Because the real trick is tricking Jaqen if she wants to get away and master her new abilities.

I think Jaqen fully knew that Arya would fail when he told her to kill the actress. This is waif's test as much as Arya's. Waif clearly isn't a full Faceless Man yet either, and she clearly has a grudge against Arya. If she manages to kill Arya painlessly and without enjoying it, she wins the test. In 6x05 Jaqen said "One way or another, a face will be added to the hall". Could very well be waif's face. Jaqen's actor has said that his character clearly has his own agenda for Arya, so I don't think he really wants her dead.

This would be a super freaky twist but I don't think Arya wants to kill Jaqen - he's always been good to her and did help her out in Westeros. They are on even ground having helped one another so unless he's actually against her now (I suspect he's not) she has no reason to kill him. Remember, Arya's "failing" is that she must have purpose to her kills. I think if she kills The Waif, he may let her off the hook but that's just a suspicion.

But she'll kill the waif, and THEN she'll come to him and he'll admit that he was trying to have her killed. Which will change things...possibly. Arya is tired of people trying to kill her and her family by now.

I think it's much more likely he just magically shows up like he often does whenever the Waif is beating up Arya and he lets her know that killing the Waif was paying the price and her face will be added to the hall of faces and Arya is free to go ... *edit: Decided to spoiler tag my guess anyways ... OR she's passed and can join them fully - which may explain some things I saw in leaked photos about way back during filming of Arya in a certain costume - but I'm not really sure. Just speculation.

Fair enough. There are a lot of possibilities. I'm not sure who's right, but I think something genuinely interesting is going to happen. I just dont' know how the faceless men work...would they just let her go? Because I get the feeling she wants to do her own thing, "for Arya and for the Starks", but won't he want her to do what THEY want her to do?

Arya and the Hound.
Thats what I'm thinking.
Also, Stannis returns this episode. He is "dead" so he's technically no one. A man can only hope.

Seems pretty much confirmed to me I hope he comes back to tell Sansa she knows nothing about fighting a war. That's all I ask for...
