My friends were over to watch the episode and left only six lemoncakes. They were all sick of Dany. The scene was fine, but they didn't want it to end on her. They're all really excited for Jaime to get going and they think him riding up the stairs was fucking awesome (I agree). And of course everybody is excited for Benjen to be back. They were also all groaning when Sam and Gilly showed up and then they all shut up and got into it once they saw how awesome Horn Hill was.  My dad skipped out on this and has been at a Memorial Day cookout since noon so I'll update with his comments later. |

My husband was like "So...not much happened?" and my mother ranted about how stupid Tommen is. Didn't realize until now that she actually hates him. (Though I don't think she remembers his name, she keeps calling him "Boy King")

I'm suprised most casual fans even give a shit about Benjen tbh. He was in like 2 episodes way back in the first season. There's people that don't even know some of the main characters names, let alone a minor character like that.

There's people that don't even know some of the main characters names, let alone a minor character like that. I think I mentioned that yesterday. All of my unsullied friends remember and care about Benjen for some reason. |

Husband spent most of the episode alternately watching and looking for his work badge which he had misplaced (and found).
So take the following with a grain of salt:
Episode was underwhelming, except for Benjen.
Isn't the High Sparrow the same religion as Tommen so what is the big deal about Tommen and Margarey announcing their support of the HS? (After the episode, I had to look it up on the internet and confirm to him that I was right in my explanation...)
When is someone going to remember that Cersei is responsible for this mess?
I am glad they finally gave Jaime something to do.
Sam's father is a douchewaffle.

Watched episodes 5 & 6 with Daniel. He liked them both and I think he actually teared up a little bit during Hodor's death scene, which is fucking huge.  To my surprise he remembered Benjen, even before he took his hood off. I asked him if he knew who that was, and he was like, it's his uncle, no? And I was like:  He did not remember Edmure though. |

Dad remembered Benjen, but he thought Edmure had been killed as well in the RW. He dislikes Randyll a lot. He also said it feels like the show is waiting for something huge to happen. He hasn't seen any of the trailers, so I dunno if he knows about Snowbowl. I told him that there's a battle coming but he now thinks it's going to be between the Freys and the Tullys.

And he and his name were used in the ruse to kill Jon. I think that's probably why. |

He did not remember Edmure though.
