*comes into this thread*
It's six in the morning. I didn't sleep. I think I'm hallucinating. Was this real? Was this fucking real? A week ago I jokingly said that I would die if the episode ended on Sansa confronting Ramsay and seeing him die. Yep. I jizzed in my pants and died.
Oh, and the rest of the episode? Motherfucking TV history.
11/10.

Also, to @witchy that reaction guy's video made me snort laughing because his dog is licking his face when he's saying Ramsay's dog is licking him in the face. I had a momentary moment of weirdness thinking "what if his dog bites him in the face??"

A solid eight. Great episode, amazing battles and realism, dragons were impressive too.
To me it was not the greatest episode story wise but definitely the best technically. I'd have given it nine but I ended up giving it eight to troll the guy who complained about the eights earlier.
It was hugely satisfying but it lacked the emotional impact of the door and to me comes second to that.
Technically it was mind blowing and if it doesn't clean up on the techy awards there is something very wrong.

This episode was spectacular I understand that people who may like dialogue-driven episodes would not rate it as high. I get that. But to me it was so freaking exciting the whole way through. I could hardly breathe during the Mereen scenes and although the ice part of the episodes had a few missed opportunties i can not fault it. Can i start with Mereen. CAN I. Dany is back and full on fire and blood. and she's not taking any shit. i thought this part of the episode was almost better (if not better, sorry! (not sorry)) than Winterfell. I loved everything, tyrion talking shit and Dany having none of it, yet still listening to him. Grey worm, Missandei and Tyrion dealing with the master while dany flew off and destroyed everyone. Did i mention Dany mounted DROGON and collected the other two AND THEY DESTROYED THE FLEET? DID I? WHY AM I YELLING? Okay that was seriously awesome though. Loved the conversation with Yara and Theon, Tyrion will learn in time how much Theon has suffered But he took it very well and i can see Dany admires Yara. They are going to be besties . I doubt the Ironborn will give up their way of life though. But this part of the deal makes it interesting. Bummed we didn't get to see any Ironborn action it would have been amazing to see them, being the best at-sea fighters in Westeros! But the budget probably went to the dragons so fair enough. Dany's new dress omg DANY IN WESTEROS NEXT SEASON CONFIRMED dragon2 Winterfell. Started off really well, Jon wants to fight but ramsay is like LOL see you at the battle . The war council was a good scene highlighting the struggles between wildlings and trained north/westerosi men. Would have loved to see more Northern captains at that meeting but i'm guessing Davos was representing them. Where the fuck was Manderly though i really though he'd come in last minute to join the fight and he'd give his speech would have preferred that to a talk between Jon and Sansa that consisted of this: Jon: "give me advice then" Sansa: "Dont do what he wants" Jon: "???" Sansa's words he should have listened to, but she didn't articulate them well. They served later purpose, so i guess it was okay. The scene between Mel and Jon was mediocre, sort of expected more, basically i wanted more from Mel. I think she'll get some time next episode as her faith seems renewed (thats if Davos doesn't kill her). Davos finding Shireen's wood carving- a nice moment. The shot of him at the pyre when the horn blasted was beautiful with the pinky-orange clouds . I really wish Rickon wouldn't have died. They intended this to happen so that jon would 'get mad' but that just made jon look like a reckless idiot. Plus one important thing- the emotional impact i wanted it to have didn't happen. I didn't cry or get emotional because it was obvious he was gone. We didn't spend any time with him before so this was a real minus that probably would make me deduct a point if the episode wasn't so HYPE. The scene was still well done and tragic but the set up let it down. The battle itself was pure . I will reiterate some past words but that Umber leader- such a shame he wasn't on the winning side because the actor is well attractive, charismatic and just badass. I had to stop myself and say, hey! stop beating up Tormund! (im totally not rooting for you ) Some strange and interesting camera angles and i thought overall it was well done. Didn't enjoy like 2 minutes of Jon suffocating and Tormund getting punched whilst the northern lord was surrounded by enemies (??) but it was really tense and well choreographed battle, excellent directing and acting which would have been hard given all the CGI. The Vale carved through them like butter and it was magnificent . Severely under-utilised the giant! and then he died (RIP last of the giants Wun-Wun ) That bastard didn't even let him have a last moment with Jon. The ending was extremely satisfying, Sansa was great in that scene, but i fear she was enjoying that too much? (i don't blame her though). Hopefully another week passes and its littlefinger's turn. She needs Royce on her side and to dispose of LF. I fear for Mel, Davos has a murderous look in his eyes, but she deserves it so... I'm afraid it was just a 10/10 not a SNOWBOWL HYPE 11/10

It's just a number, I wouldn't get too worked up about it. Ultimately people are going to vote for whatever reason they want, can't be helped.

Even though I knew what was going to happen (mostly), I was still stressed out. That is some great entertainment. And holy bloody hells, was it violent!
I gave it a 10 (no hype points) because I refuse to give it a higher rating than the Red Wedding. Call me a traditionalist. Call me stubborn, a loyalist, or a fucking prick. Call me what you will. But the Red Wedding will forever be at the top when it comes to Game of Thrones/A Song of Ice and Fire.
But this episode was brilliantly done when it comes to pure entertainment. And yes, thank the gods about Tormund. There is only ONE thing, only one person that could have made it an 11 with hype for me, one person that could have sent me to the moon door. "Only Cat."

Rating it lower to drive down the enthusiasm of others? That's pretty immature reddit style attitude. Maybe these rating polls are pointless because people are using it to troll. It's just a number.... I thought "No One" was a much better episode than this one and that one was full of 2's and 4's. It was fun to see every number from 2 to 10 in there I doubt it's trolling. People (myself included) go overboard with ratings high or low. Ctid seems like he was half-joking anyway, being between an 8 and a 9 in the first place.

Personally, I think people should be allowed to hate, allowed to troll in harmless ways, allowed to say what they want, within reason. If you know that what you're about to type is going to make someone on this board mad or hurt their feelings, though, why not try typing it in a gentler way or qualify it in some way? What it comes down to is treating each other as human beings with feelings even when we can't see the other person on the other end of the keyboard. It's not hard. And we don't have to be a bunch of pussy-footing pansies either. We just need to be grownups and let people live.

I don't mind people having a different opinion, even when the opinion is very strong and the complete opposite of my own. But we are such a small community and we know each other so well by now. I know if I say X in a specific way, that it will piss off or hurt person Y. So I try my best not to do that. We haven't been perfect in that regard (myself included), but I think we should try harder. It's not meant to be censoring ( day dreamer ). Everyone can still say whatever he or she likes. But there are things that don't need to be repeated every week and we should always try to be respectful of each other's feelings and favourite characters in regards to how we voice the criticism. There's a difference between saying "Sansa's behaviour irritated me because reason XY" and revelling in "Lady Bolton"-hate. I remember when I went a bit too far with my Stannis-criticism one time and I regretted it immediately because I noticed I was annoying people or even hurting their feelings. I don't wanna do that.

I gave it a 9. Not because it wasn't amazing, but because it wasn't as good as Hardhome. I don't think it was the anything the director did to spoil the 10. That episode was freakin beautiful, from start to finish.
I think I subtract it 1 point because it would have been nice not to have such underwhelming odds for the Starks. Maybe instead of 2000 vs 6000 or whatever it was, make it 4500 vs 6000, something more believable. Just my take.

I hear you, and I respect that. I was a bit irritated knowing they were getting massacred, and then knowing that Baelish would show up. So I was frustrated. Would have rather it been slightly less of a shitty situation for Jon. The brother bit was bad enough as it was.
But I guess they did it so that he'd be the underdog and people would nearly threaten to never watch the show again as Wun Wun, Tormund, Jon and Co got murdered. BUT WAIT, then comes the army from the heavens to save the day! The underdogs win!!!! Woooohoooo! Fuck yes! (I'm pretty sure that's what they were going for, although like you, I would have preferred just a slight advantage to the Boltons, personally).
I'd also like to believe that more of the north would have remained brave and loyal to the Starks, even when afraid. Because after all, that is the only time a man can be brave...

Gurl, there was like one post calling her Lady Bolton lol. Maybe it made you feel stronger about it because more people chimed in with why Sansa was irritating this week, but it's not as if everyone refers to her as Lady Bolton. No one argued when so many referred to her as QitN all season long even if they hated the idea.

It was today, but what happened today was the result of accumulated annoyance at continous posts about "Lady Bolton". People have been restraining from speaking out for several weeks now. Earlier you said you haven't seen that, but just because you haven't seen it, doesn't mean it's not there. Today even some Sansa-neutral people have noticed it. Look, it's not the end of the world and no one is prohibiting anyone to voice their opinion. We should just be a bit more sensitive about how we phrase stuff is all I'm saying. I will try to be more sensitive about how I voice my opinion as well. I'm not sure why you are so opposed to the idea of people being more considerate of each other's feelings, because honestly that's all I'm arguing for here.
