I love how incredibly respectful he is of Cersei. It's like he accepts she is just some higher form of being as the Queen and always has this air of humility around her. Like the guy who knows his place which is just so fascinating as he has the powers to cheat the death. And the whole nice thing covering what he does which is so evil yet veiled with pure scientific curiosity. The show should really properly explore that. He's probably the most reliable and loyal ally in GoT. 'You want me to make a fake hand for your incestual twin lover? No problem, is gold okay? BTW you're not pregnant, you're damn healthy for a grown-ass queen who drinks too much wine. What's that? Your killing machine was poisoned, and you'd like an undead zombie Mountain? I got you. I'm also using candy to get the children of King's Landing to bring us pertinent info. BTW it's Kevan's birthday, but I all ready bought a card for him, all you have to do is sign it.'

Everyone always has ulterior motives, so I have wondered from time to time if he might as well, but then why would he? He is now well placed to do exactly what he wants to do. If he can help keep Cersei in power, he profits from it. The actor flies under the radar, because the character does, and when he's on screen, we're usually looking at the Mountain monster. He is extremely convincing with that creepy little smirk. He is enjoying the fuck out of himself.

I'm starting to feel that Anton Lesser is the most under-appreciated actor of the cast. He's so delightfully dark and funny in every scene he appears in. Delicately straddling the line between horror and absurdity. A lesser actor would have caused his part of the story to fall apart completely. This guy saved Jaime Lannister, and made an unstoppable zombie that will prove integral in the season 6 King's Landing plotline. Yet it doesn't feel silly, somehow. Thanks to Qyburn, it feels right, if not damn appropriate. His performance is both genuine and entertaining. And the more we see of him, the more poignant his opening line feels when Robb Stark discovered him and told him how lucky he was to be alive. (dramatic pause) "... Lucky?" Couldn't agree more about Anton Lesser. He is very good, and my inability to remember his name is not a knock on his performance at all. As you say, he captures very well a subtlety from the book that is difficult to portray - that "kindly grandfather" appearance, which makes him unthreatening, yet he still manages to make your skin crawl. This was also my favourite Hill scene in the series, really gave the actor an opportunity to showcase his talents.

I'm going obvious and giving the best performance to Kitten. I believed every line, expression, and movement. My favorite moments were when he noticed his stab wounds and talked about getting murdered, when he faced Tormund and then Edd, when he looked up at Olly before the execution, when he watched them die while everyone else turned away, even Tormund, and when he walked out. He did that with a very sad but pointed mic drop.

That almost brought a tear to my eye. Anton Lesser is one brilliant dude, though I'm not really familiar with his other work. Cersei's storyline, particularly this season, is a bit like a diseased fairy tale and Lesser proves the perfect fit for it. He surrounds himself with dead giants, children that could probably cannibalize him at any time and all kinds of scientific instruments from hell, yet the guy completely sells it. Love what Sati said about him being oddly humble yet madly curious at the same time.

Best is a hard thing to say, but some noted performances:
Lena did a great job in her speech about people laughing at her. She's been holding it in all season so far but that scene showed how much rage and humiliation is boiling under the surface.
Dean is underappreciated in general, but he is doing a fantastic job portraying poor gullible Tommen. I particularly like how he was able to portray a weak and scared kid trying hard to be brave and authoritative, and then when that failed ".....does that mean anything to you?"
Some very good but brief performances from the TOJ cast.
