"That's Ned? He was ugly when he was young. What happened?"
"Ned, have one of your buds stab him in the back. He is literally surrounded and everyone is just standing there. Why does everyone wait and miss their chances in these shows?"

My other half complained that there wasn't enough action, but he likes Spartacus. If it doesn't have that level of fighting in it, it is a disappointment. He's still pining for Tywin.

In the Tower of Joy scene, right in the middle of the fighting and where Bran was talking where I was on the edge of my seat, my dad just blurted out "Is that the Targaryen thing on his chest?" and got so mad I literally had to rewind the few seconds to let him hear what Bran said He's not usually the most "reacting" viewer but he actually gasped loudly when Osha's hood was lifted, which I think is his first real reaction this season. Here's a few quotes from my friend "Thorne went out like a champ" "Tormund is awesome as usual" "That scene [Rickon/Osha/Shaggyhead] made me feel sick" "There's only two of the wolves left now and nymeria is leading a super pack" "Is Big Jon Umber still alive cause I don't remember him being at the red wedding [insert me telling him that was Smalljon with Rickon] NO NO" "Arthur Dayne ultimate badass, and props to the stunt team cause that fight was special" |

She didn't like Jon's new hairstyle. She enjoyed the episode but was really annoyed by the ToJ cliffhanger  She also called the Umbers "fucking traitors". |

I only got one glare this time, so obviously I kept the amount of alcohol I imbibed to a reasonable amount. Boring husband is boring and does not emote during episodes, damn it! I asked what he thought at the end, and he said "I liked it."  To be fair, it was hard to know how to feel at the end of this episode. It was definitely not the triumphant feeling of the last one. |

My co-worker thought that the episode was a bit too "talky" particularly Tyrion's scene. She was also annoyed that yet again one of the Starks left one place and another was brought in (Sansa and Rickon in WF). But she also thought Dayne was just gorgeous and badass so that's what matters |

Just finished watching the episode with Daniel, pretty boring reactions overall, or rather, a lack of reactions. When they showed Shaggydog's head he was like "What, they killed another one of the wolves? Great. Why are you making me watch this?". But he enjoyed the sight of naked Jon Snow. |

Finally caught up on the last episode with my son. We talked a lot about the show on Mother's Day but that was before the episode aired and we haven't talked this week much, both super busy and he works on weekends.
He was duly impressed with Jon Snow 2.0 and hopes he'll be a much "darker" and less forgiving character now because he didn't want Jon Snow to become 'too honorable' like Ned. Which also tied in nicely with his assessment of Tower of Joy. He doesn't know much about the R+L=J stuff other than what I've told him are just fan theories but he figured it out the tower is going to be that scene when he heard a woman screaming at the end. That was pretty obvious if you know anything about the theories.
He also really likes the new Bran (older, shorter hair, seeing things via the tree) and thinks his story is going to be the biggest one going forward since now we'll get answers to everything that way and that he has to ride south to tell Jon and Sansa how to defeat the White Walkers because he sees it in a vision. I thought that was a pretty good theory!
