Havent seen the ep yet but do I dare ask what happened to Shaggydog? Ramsay asked how that was proof it was Rickon and Umber threw Shaggydog's head up on a table.

I think if your leadership group turns on you and stabs you to death, you're allowed to say "fuck this shit, I'm done with this organization" with no further consequences. Pretty much everyone involved would put a tally into the "perfectly understandable action" column. Everyone involved was dead though. But all the people involved were the Senior members of the Watch. The organization is a joke that was rotted from within. Jon has no reason to trust it at all and is perfectly justified in walking away. Also, he was resurrected like Jesus so probably feels like he has bigger fish to fry now.

He's smart to move on and it was presented pretty convincingly IMO.

I wonder how much Arthur Dayne took offense to his nameless KG buddy talking smack like he wasn't a guy riding Dayne's coattails all these years. Dude went down like a chump. He sharpened his sword like nobody's business at least. If I were Dayne, I'd be pretty pissed that I had to mow down so many guys with no help.

It was basically confirmed in E2 that they weren't around anymore which is what Jaime told Cersei. This episode talk mostly just confirmed that the Small Council knows the Dorne coup went down and the Ellaria and the SS's run shit in Dorne now. My guess is that we won't see them until pretty much the end of the season. It was interesting that Olenna was present to hear this information if you believe that she ends up making her way down there at season's end to strike up an alliance with the ladies.

I feel like people are putting a lot of credence into a fun little thing Sophie and Maisie did. Those girls lie about things that are going to happen on the show all the time.
Speculate about other pieces of evidence but that AMA was all kinds of them BSing around, I wouldn't bother with anything they said there.

I'm not sure they could make Kevan more useless than he's been in previous seasons but they're giving it a good go so far. Put this guy and the stick in his ass out of his misery. At least Pycelle farts, does jumping jacks and has weird old guy sex with prostitutes. Kevan just gets mad at people a lot and storms out of rooms.

She lies about the show all the time so that wouldn't be surprising. I mean, there's lots of reasons to speculate about LSH this season. Just don't use that particular interaction because it's almost assuredly the two of them dicking around with fans for their own amusement. They like that.

Now that the show confirmed Jon will leave the NW on a technicality (which I've suspected will happen in the books since I first read ADwD), I have to say, I don't like it. Feels a bit cheap to me honestly. Yes he died, but the vows also say and for all nights to come. Idk how leaving the NW with Dolorous Edd in charge with an impending WW attack seems like a good idea. I'm sure Jon will go off and unite the north, and thus having a much better resistance to fight them, but it feels like it's more about Jon being free to sit the IT at the end tof me. If that does happen I would have rather the NW completely disbanded out of not being necessary anymore. I started to feel the same way as the credits rolled ... but I pulled it back in. I recognize sorrow can often feel like regret. Jon is the Oathbreaker in that moment he walks out the door, but as Davos just said... Good. Go fail some more. This was the freedom pass Jon needed to move on and do what comes next. Many will call him oathbreaker from here on out. Many will doubt the rumors of his return from the dead. This the burden he'll bear as part of his suffering. This is what GRRM wanted in resurrection - for it to matter in ways that don't always mean a hero's return. We have to keep remembering that. The hug with Tormund and Edd were heartwarming, but short-lived. Jon won't feel happiness again even if he seemed to gain a sense of humor as Edd hilariously pointed out "You sure that's really you in there?"

I will say one thing about the ToJ scene, the opening part was almost identical to how I pictured it in my head when I read the books. Ser Arthur with the whetstone on his sword in exactly the right position. Ok there were only 2 instead of 3, but it was pretty close to my imagination. Hats off to them for that.

Looking again archiechvyalthan amazing "Road to Season 6" thread, I'm almost sure that this episode will be remembered as the weakest of the season. The fact that it was not by any means a bad episode tells about the stellar Season 6 we'll have in the end.

Admin Arya did mention Catelyn by name when she was naming her family members. Doing my rewatch now.
