The Dothraki's reaction will be hilarious once they see winter and the WW. Maybe there won't be Dothraki anymore before winter gets to KL/wherever she'll be in s7 I think that Euron is in the show to mess up Dany's invincible factor somehow. Otherwise why introduce him? Given how Dany now accepted the hotter Greyjoy as her ally Euron will probably wanna fuck her up for it. I think this whole sea battle thing is possible but it would probably be the most expensive thing on the show yet so maybe they find a cheaper way for Euron to screw Dany's chances a bit Vikings managed (sort of) to do a ship battle this most recent season, and they have a lower budget than GoT. It was a bit of a "cheat" on Vikings (they used floating wooden platforms to battle on rather than the ships. Yes it was weird) but I think GoT with its bigger budget should be able to manage. If they make it one of their "big moments" then they should be able to devote sufficient budget to it and do it justice

Maybe it would give us more character interactions instead of fancy CGI fueled moments

There was a short mention of season 7 filming starting over on WotW . Have seen no mention of anything like that elsewhere. That really pushes 2017 premiere out , a lot!
Also , all I can see by this is more rainy weather work in NI. It might be cooler but no snow.

I was waitinig yaers for snow in show, lack of it kinda ruin sense in S5, so I hope we will finally get some properly winter weather. Maybe they find some new locations with more snow? Of course Northern Ireland GoT set cannot be replace, so if it will be necessary they will do as before, but I hope for a better efect.

Only place I have seen that mentioned and they didn't give a source. Well they did film in Iceland but can't see them moving production there.

Yeah , should have said September. Only place I have seen that mentioned and they didn't give a source. Well they did film in Iceland but can't see them moving production there. Moving all production to Iceland is impossible- they've build/use too many locations in NI, which are iconic now- the Wall, Winterfell, some landscapes etc. But using snowy locations for random or new shots is more likely- well that would generate extra costs and logistic problems, so probably they'll stay in NI and wait for adequate weather. And of course the North isn't only place where they need cold weather, the rest of Westeros also should face with true winter, otherwise continuous talking about winter during last 6 seasons won't make any sense. There is so much easier to create winter weather in books

There is so much easier to create winter weather in books They do so many crazy , impossible seeming, things these days with CGI I sort of was thinking that Snow Bowl would have a 'heavier' looking snow cover, but they didn't . It is interesting to think about , NI does get snow but in January and February , but then it's iffy as to how much and when. As of right now HBO (or rather Time Warner) has a war chest to cover almost any cost so location shooting like for season 2 can be done , it could have been done for Snowbowl but they chose what they chose. The Revenant shot a lot of stuff in Canada but even then had to move to Argentina when Canadian locations got to warm! Well the 'studio' shots in NI look more or less 'snowy' enough , tho by this time page-wise George has gotten things super arctic. Even if they don't do Dany's vision as in season 2, of KL, them seem headed for a snowy looking KL , or at least a cold one , in season 7 ... will have to see.

I'll bet Gregor Clegane will be the newest Lord Commander.

Musing about Michele Clapton coming back for season 7. Did they need their ace costume designer back because things get cold? Speculating on what the Dothraki and Unsullied will be wearing. Can't have those warm weather desert clothes. And Dany , chance for some fancy new duds!

Contracts for season 7 . Way back, (before season 5?) I am not going looking for it, just off the top of my head, I fuzzily recall about 10 or eleven 'tier one' contracts for season7. (One might say the 'tier' classification is a bit obscure.) I don't remember seeing confirmation of the group below for season 7, tho it was implied ( I know I am missing a few.) Even tho, it seemed, at the time, most if not all would be: (Just listing the actors.) Gwendoline Christie Iain Glen Rory McCann* John Bradley Conleth Hill Jerome Flynn** Hannah Murray Nathalie Emmanuel Liam Cunningham Carice van Houten Ben Crompton Jacob Anderson Ellie Kendrick Tom Wlaschiha*** Liam Cunningham Carice van Houten Indira Varma Daniel Portman Gemma Whelan Anton Lesser *One would like to know if actors like Rory are secretly told to keep dates on their calendar clear? (Thinking here of Tobias Menzies , Richard Dormer , Joseph Mawle or Paul Kaye , seems they are told nothing, but them like others will fit in set time if needed.) ** Bronn has lasted longer than I expected. *** S7 left Jaqen enigmatic, he seemed approving of Arya’s development … seems to play a future role. S7 Possibilities are: Ben Hawkey Joe Dempsie! Who knows?

I doubt we see Jaqen again. There's no need too, our Braavos story is over.

I'm thinking of possibly starting separate threads for the different big characters in season seven, so as not to clog up here too much and get more focused discussions. Should I bother?

Now i think more about the potential Stark civil war between Jon and Sansa, does anyone think this will be resolve within the first 2 episodes in season 7?
I mean, season 7 don't want to waste any more time with politics and fillers and want to focus on Dany's battle in Westeros. In addition, they didn't waste any time making Jon resurrected and Roose killed on the second episode. So what do you think? Will LF be killed very early in season 7?

If they absolutely must do it, I want it to be resolved quickly. I still don't think it's really necessary. It seems like something Sophie just really wants and no one else. lol

I don't think there will be an all out civil war between Jon and Sansa. With season 7 being 7 episodes...and 8 being possibly 6...they don't have a lot of time for fillers. I could see there being tension between the two of them. I can't see Sansa leaving Winterfell after what she went through to reclaim her home. I think something convinces her that she has to put her disappointment aside and look at the larger picture of fighting the WW. That might happen early on. About LF, I think that depends on the larger plans for him. Does someone reveal his part in Ned's betrayal? Does Cersei go after him and Sansa? Does he betray both Jon and Sansa? Remember he told Cersei that he would take care of Sansa for her if she makes him Warden of the North... Whatever he does could drive more tension between Jon and Sansa or have them unite to bring him down as well.

LF is plotting to betray Jon so he can install Sansa as Queen of the North and make style himself as protector of the realm. Sansa knew his plan, but given LF loves to fuck her mind with doubts, it wouldn't be easy. But i hope like again, this will be resolve within the very few episodes. I don't want the Northern plot to be like KL's - where the storyline gone so slow due to politics and pointless measuring in every episode until the final. Jon and Sansa have to fight the WW and LF have to be out of they way in order for this plot to procede. Plus Arya and Bran are returning Winterfell in S7, so yeah, LF is out of the container in a short amount of time.
