I know most of you guys are knee deep in spoilers but I figured I'd open this up because we'll probably be getting a trailer soon, and I'd obviously like to discuss it with everybody. I just don't want to know what happens in season 6 now that we're off the books. Ok, this will seem random, but I was reading up on the water situation going on in Flint, Michigan, and the effects of lead poisoning. Apparently it leads to gout which causes erratic behavior and makes people go kind of crazy. A lot of historians believe that lead poisoning and gout were major contributors to the fall of the Roman Empire. It made me think of Prince Doran, and wonder if maybe he doesn't actually have a good scheme. George likes to insert modern diseases and psychological disorders in his story in mysterious ways, kind of like how the Ironborn invented a crazy religion around CPR, and I wonder if Doran's gout may be having negative effects on him. I guess you could argue that it would make him act more impulsive rather than play the long game, but the Dorne story in season 5 didn't exactly give me much hope on that front. After what happened to Oberyn I was rooting for the Martell family hard in AFFC, so it would kind of make sense for George to pull the rug from under my feet yet AGAIN.

Sounds interesting!
I believe in Season Six, he will be in league with Trystane in the small council to make some movements that benefit him and his house. His inactivity, whilst irritating probably stems from the PTSD and grief that occurred during Robert's Rebellion, and that war is just so freaking risky. Doran should know the Lannister's ways of obtaining information, and it is much, much better to have a connection with very close family
Being bound in a wheelchair may give him a more narrow view of the world. It may make him more introverted and private. And have problems with self esteem, depression, inactivity with the body, gaining weight, etc.
He's definately plotting something, or is incredibly pissed off. Not just about Oberyn, but with Elia, Rhaenys and Aegon- his family.
So no, I think the fact he is in a wheelchair impacts on his identity and what he can physically do- but I don't see any irrationality stemming out of it.

We don't know enough about Doran from the show or the books. There's no textual evidence for Doran showing erratic behavior, but I really didn't know anything about gout until reading into the Flint, Michigan situation. It was interesting, and I'm sure George gave Doran gout for a reason. It instantly makes Doran as a character seem passive, and easily underestimated. I just have a sinking feeling since every character I like in this series suffers horribly. Also, characters in fiction that make epic speeches rarely see things go their way. I really hope we see more of Doran in season 6 though, he was the best thing about the Dorne plot.

There was a nonspoiler thread in S5 too, I think this will be okay.

I could be wrong, but I share your sinking feeling. Especially after what went down with Quentin in the books. Someone has to be allies with Dany, though, I would think, and they're still the best bet for that. So they'll live a little while, at least.

Ok, I'll post this here, since it's not spoilery. I just wanna say I find this to be extremely . Not because I hate Dany or anything... I really don't. But it's just so damn ominous and I love the language. HYPE.

I thought it was an interesting concept with the faces in THoBaW, but it's essentially saying "All Men Must Die." Also, it's February so they really could have released something like this a few months ago. Although I'd argue that the characters have just been faces in the game of thrones and aren't really focusing on the real war. Jon's "The long night is coming and the dead come with it" is warning Sansa, Tyrion, Dany, Cersei, Arya, and Jaime that they need to do something about the WW or they'll end up worse than dead.

So uh... do you guys think Jon will be resurrected? No. He's dead and never coming back. Move on.

So @daveyjoe, do you have any predictions for S6? I'd say CLEGANEBOWL is one.
