glamour works so easy on screen. just like they did with Jaqen and Jaqen again. Also they did already show the power of Mel's glamour. so they did not get rid of it altogether.
You don't like the storyline, silly to argue about it then. I liked it a lot. Very important actually. Basically half of adwd is about it, so there's that. Plus it made Mel sympathetic and far more facetious and interesting. Same with Mance. And Stannis as well.
So yeah. Ditches practically the entire adwd story that happens in the North.
Plus how amazing this would have been on screen. The revenge in WF with the snow. So easy to adapt and so great results. I was really looking forward for it. But yeah, gotta have some more sex scenes and reminders that Loras is gay.

There can still be all the stuff you're talking about in Winterfell happening, you just don't need Mance Rayder there to do it. In the books, it's not even clear that Mance is actually the one doing all the killings there regardless. It was the right decision.
The glamour is Dungeons and Dragons BS and Melisandre's reason for doing that is never made clear. It's one of those things that if it didn't happen in the books and the show played it out the exact same way, the audience would howl its disapproval of how stupid it was.
Also, Mel has never glamoured anything on the show. There's no precedent for it. They'd have to explain how exactly she can pull off that trick when she's never bothered to do it before on top of why she felt like tricking everyone into believing a Wildling leader was burned when she wanted to keep him alive so he could secretly go to Winterfell and save a Stark girl (just in case they needed him to because this wasn't even a thing at the time of the burning).
It hurts my brain trying to follow the plot machinations that Martin had going on there.

Why suddenly care about audience approval? I doubt they approve of the death of Oberyn or Ned. Better keep them alive then.
It puzzles me how a fan of the books can say that glamours and the dead/alive again stuff is bad. How can you be a full on fan then? That is 30% of the overall stories. People seem dead, come back. People pretend to be someone other.
Mel has also never glamoured anything in the books prior to this point, except herself of course.
They did explain it twice already how it works..or rather that it works. As I said, they did it with Jaqen. And "reminded" us again in House of Black and White.
Well I like it. Something different than all the other plots going on.
And I hate changes in that direction or way. Better have that annoying kid cut out of the story of the Wall.

With no LSH (apparently) and no Mance, there will be on character that we're all hopeful will be resurrected with no cheese... "You know nothing"

Should have cut Beric instead. Such a boring character they did on the show.
And they should have had Theon really kill Bran and Rickon. After all, they serve no purpose after that. They will never come back again.
Oh and Gregor. Tsk. So cheesy oh my god. Just let him die already.
You either are a fan of GRRM's choices of plot devices, or you aren't. But you cannot be a fan with a knife that cuts out the parts you dislike.

I've said it more than once on here, but I hated Jon's election, and everything that led to it. Including that fucking bird. It just wasn't something that I could actually buy happening. Anyway, when it comes to adapting things like this, not everything can be included. And indeed, not everything should be.

BTW, as well as dropping the Sansa ep. 506 bombshell on us all, the perv-site Recapped said that the scene from Tyene's audition would be in ep. 507. Also it reiterated what it had reported previously, that Sam and Gilly will bone in this episode.

Probably talking about the fighting pits.

Yeah it's been a while. Since 308 I think. I just realized also that all of her s5 costumes cover up her arms. She has great triceps and I'd like to see them again too.

Based on Recapped, the synopsis, and the title itself, I think this episode might have the most main characters.

Based on the promo, Tyrion and Jorah reach Meereen in this episode (Jorah is fighting in the mini-pit), so maybe Tyrion and Daenerys finally meet? Dany wasn't shown in the promo, maybe because she shares most of her scenes with the Imp? Also, no mention of Arya in the summary or any sign of her in the promo, surely they're not going to skip her again?

Surely though that's what the Gift refers to - because I doubt Jon will have time to settle Wildlings when he's on his way to Hardhome. Arya killing an "insurance salesman" - giving him the gift of death - would seem to fit

Sansa looks distraught in the promo. Is something worse going to happen to her?
