I remember reading somewhere that Mel was brought to cure Shireen's greyscale and that Selyse grew fond of her because of her success, I just don't remember if I read that as a theory or as an interpretation of the text. I think that's just a fanon thing. I actually remember seeing it theorized by the Unsullied. Shireen survived greyscale as a baby and Mel only arrived maybe a couple years before the war at most, so I don't think there was really much connection there. They made a point of having Stannis explain to Shireen herself about the Greyscale thing in his epic monologue to her. He said he called every Maester he could to come heal her. I can't remember now if he said he called for healers from Essos as well which may have given rise to the theory that might have been how Melisandre came to be with them. From what GRRM said, she has her own agenda separate from the rest of the Red Priest order and it's likely due to her misinterpreted visions. Lets hope those get reinterpreted correctly this second time around!

The girl was raised under the Seven and Selyse didn't try to have her indoctrinated as a Holy R'hllorer until s4.

Shireen is smart and doesn't fall for the Red God story I guess. I was pretty sure they revealed through Stannis that healers were called for Shireen but no mention of special magical types from Essos. I also knew it was Selyse and her 'men' who were the only ones to really follow Melisandre's ways and demands and even then the soldiers were pretty hesitant about it if I recall from the books. At any rate, it would be cool to learn a bit more about Mel's motivations and journey to Westeros and how she survived all this time and why.

Yeah, there are the Queen's men, who follow Selyse, but most of all Melisandre. Then there are the King's men, who follow Stannis, and didn't convert to the Lord of Light. The Queen's men burned Lord Sunglass alive for being an infidel, while Stannis was fighting at the Blackwater.

The Queen's Men on Stan's march to Winterfell and the ones with Mel and Selyse at Castle Black could be pretty fanatical.

Tbh, this was really similar to the other interviews he's had. I don't think there was anything new in this one?

I'm thinking this could be his best season.

I'm thinking this could be his best season. I'm excited to see Davos finally fight on screen too. We see him in the trailer unsheathing Longclaw in front of Jon's body when the mutineers start breaking down the door and he's going to wreck shit in Snowbowl so GET FUCKING HYPE.

The "stylistically new" stuff is also very interesting. Other actors have also commented on how weird and unlike GoT some parts of season 6 are. I wonder what they mean by it. It obviously has nothing to do with battles or deaths because that's what you expect from GoT. I can think of two things - the amplification of the more philosophical story threads, like Arya's last year, which was indeed quite "unlike GoT"; or an in-depth look at the mystical/supernatural/religious aspects like we've never seen before. Maybe a mix of both.

Interesting to know he could have been Dumbledore.

He's pretty good doing interviews and promotion. He seems to be a true fan, he locks himself away and read every single script as soon as he can. And he is a master of hyping without giving too much away. He knows very well how to choose his words.

It actually makes me worried that Davos dies this season. Often the ones who are most present in pre-season coverage are the ones we won't be seeing again.

Davos was on my death predictions list for this season for a while because I kept thinking he would die at Snowbowl, but I could see him becoming Jon's right hand man in S7 when they are preparing for the WW invasion.
