I think the battle against the White Walkers will go on up north while civil war tears the south apart. Dany will win the North's support somehow then move downward. And just when she's at the gates of King's Landing, Cersei's gonna turn the city into the biggest fucking blunt in the seven kingdoms and burnnnn. I like it. So we would have Dany landing north first, would be a nice twist. Do you think that Daenerys’ visions in Season 2, there are only two, will actually come true? The implication there is that indeed the Red Keep is burned ,not clear about KL, and Winter has come totally south. Then Dany goes north of the wall. You know with all the visions in the House of the Undying in the book I can't remember those, do I? GRRM book wise has implied that KL is starting to see 'winter'. Essos too, I think strange weather is going on in Braavos. So seems to me Dany may not encounter any resistance or little in invading Westeros from the south because it is tied up in the cold. At the same time , my perception, is that the 'Others' army will breach the wall and the North will be fighting a holding action. Could be the South come to their senses that they have a common enemy and everybody in Westeros unites against the Others. When things are going the worse of Westeros Dany arrives with her army and three very large dragons with two riders wielding Valyrian swords. In fact all the Valyrian weapons that can be mustered. There is a honking big battle , biggest of them all, very costly , but the Others are defeated. Essos may even have to be involved too since the followers of R'hllor seem to be oppssed to the Great Other (who is the Night King on the show?). George has implied this in the books, and even the show has Melisandre , as in the books, council Stannis to go to the Wall because some mysterious threat, seemingly she does not mean the Wildlings. This kind of wrap seems to fit into two more seasons , 7 and 8. Means things get really hugger-mugger in 7 and lord knows what in S8. (Have we heard any more about season 8?)

Seriously, reading the last few pages, is this fucking Rant & Raving? Go to Westeros. I have said so many times but apparently I need to say it again - this is not just a board for enthusiastic fans of the series. Some of the people here have problems with plot holes and the writing and they are free to state that opinion. And I would love for them to be able to do that without remarks like that.

I'm liking this speculation. Nothing has been confirmed or denied about a season 8. But with the spoilers and speculation being discussed in here, I kind of think of this season as wrapping up some loose ends and seasons 7 and most likely 8 will be about Dany landing in Westeros, winter everywhere and white walkers too. I'm pretty sure if D&D tell HBO they need 8 seasons, they'll get it.

I'd be willing to bet quite a bit that after the s6 premiere we get another two year renewal.

Seems likely seeing how HBO really has nothing else at this point :/ My hope is that Westworld's reshoots and production troubles are so that they can make it as good as they possibly can. Generally those kinds of snags indicate a lack of quality in a production but there are exceptions to the rule, like Fury Road which had a ton of reshoots and was all the better for it. So I'm still hopeful about Westworld, however foolish that might be of me.
I like Vinyl so far too and it's been renewed. But the ratings aren't great. So it's waiting on a miracle really to make it beyond the lifespan it's been granted.

My thought is that season 7 is green lighted just that HBO has not put out a sign to that effect. As to season 8, we have only heard that from HBO mahogony row. I still think the business side with parent Time-Warner involved is probably fluid right now. Time Warner and HBO were riding high till last biz year, I mean they are still doing good, they blew away a take over year before last. But this last year was a little off. GoT is their golden egg right now , not quite like one they have ever had, so I am guessing corporate is thrashing about a bit about what to do.

Those who started in S1 signed a contract for Season 7 (and 8, I imagine), as the contract is normally for 6 years.

The mummer's farce is almost done. I'm curious about how Kit will address his interviews after the resurrection. He will say something like: "Well, I had to lie, I had no choice"?

Kit: "Had I told the truth, the writers would've killed me off for REAL!"

He could say "Well I wasn't lying, Jon Snow is dead, but Jon Stark/Targaryen isn't." But he said "I'm never coming back." Yeah I dunno how he'll dodge that question then or maybe he'll just laugh it off when he's being interviewed.

He could say "Well I wasn't lying, Jon Snow is dead, but Jon Stark/Targaryen isn't." But he said "I'm never coming back." Exactly, he said he is not coming back, and he is not involved with the show anymore and he has only filmed scenes as a body. We know he is lying, and he will have to acknowledge it at some point. I guess he will do as you said, with some humor and "blaming" HBO for it. I can see many people getting upset about it, some people are offended when they hear that an actor lied, which I think is silly, as the work of an actor is basically lie.

How DARE he lied about a major plot element! LOL!! How dare he not to reveal one of the biggest twists of the series, one that has not even happened yet in the books, making it even more important for readers and non-readers alike? But yeah, I can see a lot of people bitching about it.
