What were they expecting, actual dragons? Nah but it was pretty lame-looking. Would have been worth it for the Dance Of Dragons feature though. i think they were expecting a 3D hologram that actually ate some of the spectators and then khaleesi would show up and fly away with it.

someone on wic.net also did a translation of javi's podcast: Nice to know that the ADWD epilogue is confirmed. I hope it's as creepy as in the book

Good to have the ADWD epilogue confirmed. I wonder what specifically about it will be different besides Pycelle's quarters seemingly being in the bowels of the castle rather than in a room with a window for snow to billow in through?

Also the fact that Varys will mention Dany instead of FAegon. I dunno maybe Kevan and Pycelle's roles will be switched.

If Pycelle's featured more prominently in s6 than Kevan I could see that being the case. He's been much more prominent thus far at least, so it'd probably be more impactful, unless Kevan makes a much bigger impression this season.

Well Kevan is now Hand of the King so he will very likely have a much larger role, but I think Pycelle's death would still be more impactful at least for the casual viewers given that he's been in every season. It will be interesting to see if there's any small council scenes since it will only really be Kevan, Pycelle, and then Mace when he returns from Braavos. I can't see Kevan keeping Qyburn or letting Cersei sit in. Also if that sequence from the trailer with the Dothraki marching is really from the end of the season and is actually them riding to the Gates of Meereen, it's adding to your theory of 609 having the three battles that is if Snowbowl doesn't take up the entire episode.

Kevan said that he thought Tommen should learn how to rule back in ep. 502, so I imagine he'll want to get him on board now that he's de facto in charge. Also it's technically Jaime's prerogative to be there as well as LC.
I wouldn't be surprised if Qyburn remained on the Council saying that Varys's little birds are reporting to him now and that's why they'd keep him in the loop. And then of course he could report everything they discuss to Cersei.
I'm right about that.

Paul Kaye interview from yesterday www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b074v9cfInterviewer: "You're going to be doing some more of (Game of Thrones)?" PK: "I couldn't possibly say". Interviewer: "Oh, so you are then". Laughter. Gives me some hope

Wonder if the scene with Euron is the kingsmoot or something more personal.

But we'll see. Wonder if the scene with Euron is the kingsmoot or something more personal. If Euron does sneak to Essos with them it could be his reveal there. But I'm leaning towards him going to Oldtown. So if Alfie knows about the scene, I imagine it's one of theirs together. So yeah, either the Kingsmoot or some scene of Euron menacing him privately.

I get the feeling that he might have been contacted last year, either for season 6 or 7. His answers lately are ambiguous, and he really doesn't sound like the kind of guy who would give a damn about being on GoT again unless he was told he would be needed back, but yes, let's wait and see with this one. At least it's not "I don't know if they'll ever call me back" Dempsie

Might be one way to bring him back.

So is season 7 supposed to top season 6? And season 8 to trump season7? I hope they handle this carefully because it gets into the territory one has with comic book movies. "Wow that was a bigger explosion than in Ultra Super Duper Furious 21!" Meh who cares?!

no i didn't, i just explained to @kairos why some people are irritated with some of the things that D&D do. not everyone has to agree with me, but the point is that its not always the writing ideas that are bad but the execution of it. Like that Dany banishes Jorah scene. The writing there was not bad but Clarke looking at the wall behind Jorah and doing God knows what with her eyes was one of the worst things I've ever seen on that show Just to speak on this, because this scene really did me in. I was very much looking forward to this showdown and Iain Glen brought it only to get nothing back from Emilia. I don't know if it was the directing or how she was told to portray the character, but her performance there fell so flat. This I cannot blame the writing for at all, I criticize the writing many times but not for this one...this was either a direction choice or Emilia, I have no clue, but it didn't work. As for the Philly dragon, I think there are plenty in Philly who relish being boo-birds (Philly born and raised here), I think the only thing that would impress is a real dragon. I'm not sure what they thought they were getting but okay. They had rubble from a "dragon attack" as part of the promotion in front of my husband's work and he said the one day he's mainly out of the office is the day they do that because he would have gotten pictures.

It's really odd with Emilia. That scene was directed by Alex Graves. In season 6 Episode 8 when Dany and Tyrion meet Emilia aced the character, but then Miguel Sapochnik directed that. It's odd because Alex Graves directed season 3 episode 4 which had Emilia's strongest performance so far, the Dracarys sequence. She speaks Valyrian extensively in that , maybe it was that, but her expression , projection and body language are near perfect. Then she is always good when speaking Valyrian. She will have to speak Dothraki a lot this season , that may work well for her.

Emilia in general is a very inconsistent actress. I mean she's never particularly wowed me but she's decent-good in some scenes imo and then just downright awful in others.
