I just rewatched Hardhome. You know, this episode leaves me very optimistic for Season 6. I know some fans fear that the show's quality will suffer without any book to follow, but a huge chunk of 5x08 is completely invented or stuff that has not yet happened in the books. Not only the massacre of Hardhome itself, but also both scenes with Dany and Tyrion and also that extremely touching scene between Sansa and Theon. These moments are not from the books and yet they are among my favourite GoT moments ever. Written by D&D. Yeah, I'm optimistic for S6. Well said. I'm being optimistic too. D&D aren't flawless, but neither is GRRM. A section of the fanbase does not give them the credit they deserve. They have adapted a series of books that many, including myself, thought completely unadaptable, and they have turned them into probably the most famous (and one of the most awarded) shows in the world. Besides, there are some great book moments happening next season too: Tower of Joy, The Kingsmoot, The Siege of Riverrun...

I just found out about this thread. I'm midway through a rewatch before the season starts so I'll have to post in here some.

Rewatched Season 3, Episode 4 last night. I've watched it so many times now I was just savoring details, like the looks on Jorah's, Barristan's, and Missandei's faces during and after the deed. How she completely silenced them, blew them away, and sealed their support. It also gave me the opportunity to once again notice the one logistical flaw with that final bit. How the hell did all those unsullied hear what she said? I mean, I know she has the Daenerys voice, but still. More than half of them must have just been beating their spears in the dirt because everyone else was.

I'm gonna start my yearly re-watch this weekend, once it's 50 days until the premiere and I can do one a day to tide me over until then.

I think 403, where Dany addresses the city of Meereen before she sends barrels of broken collars over the walls, makes it clear: Dany has special megaphone powers. The real question is do all Targs have special megaphone powers or just Dany? She truely is AAR!

Slaver's Bay has great acoustics generally. I'd love to play a gig there.

Finally started season 3, this one is probably my favorite.
In the scene where Dany meets Kraznys about the Unsullied for the first time, the natural lighting is all over the place and looks different in each angle. I wonder what may have happened for them not to get it done quickly enough so that it matched. I wouldn't think it was that complicated of a scene to shoot.

I watched episode 2 tonight and since it was about the hundredth time I've seen it, I was just watching the faces for a lot of the time. Lena had her eyebrow raised the entire time she was talking to Catelyn about the baby she lost. If only we knew what that look meant at the time.

I've only recently noticed that Benjen's hair gets shorter when he's inside at the feast, presumably because it was Joseph Mawle's real hair in the original pilot. They didn't even bother getting a wig around the same length like they did with Sean Bean.

I know dye for facial hair exists. Or, y'know, just keep him clean shaven.

I know plenty of people with dark hair and ginger beard. But the seed is strong! Gendry shouldn't have no damn red facial hair.

Have always found Emilia's dark eyebrows a bit distracting when she is in 'Valyrian' persona, seem they could lighten those up just a little.

I'm mostly over it now, but sometimes I find myself staring at them and being taken out of the story. I wish they would dye just the very tops of her eyebrows a silvery blonde. I actually know a couple people in real life with dark eyebrows and blonde hair, but they all have some blonde mixed in if you look closely. Hers would look more real if they did that, and they wouldn't have to completely ruin her signature brows.
