@fireandblood That's a nice touch given the fact that we talk about her crazy father mostly. And how stunning is this cape dress? Must be my favourite Dany robe ever! I love the cape dress! I love the dragon clasp! The ring trivia is very cool too.

I'm not so keen on the cape dress. It feels like a second-rate version of Goop's iconic 2012 look: I like the GoT version more. The asymmetric draped part bothers me somehow, because it clashes with the accentuated shoulders. And of course, the dragon clasp is spot on. But right, you cannot deny that they took inspiration from Tom Fords design.

One neat little detail that I think 99.9999% of people would overlook (and indeed is not one I would have noticed had Emilia not pointed it out), but Dany has had the same ring since 1x01 It belonged to her mother: And as of 5x07, she still has it: I think it's a pretty hideous ring, but it's a lovely touch. Wow, where did Emilia point that out?

Oh, I just love the Stannis outfit. It suits his character so well. The only decoration on his armour is his sigil. It seems like all his soldiers are trying to copy his style. That and the platemail looks really cool IMO. I always liked the Lannister outfits as well. Their helmets are really well designed. I like the themed regional armors. Best single outfit, IMO goes to Sansa in her gothic black dress. I really thought she was onto something at that point... Makes me want to wear one of the Lannister outfits once again. And yeah, I also thought about the virgin queen when I watched the wedding scene. She looked so gorgeous. And a nice contrast to Theon's outfit. Like a pall or something. His costume I mean. I think the whole contrast of Sansa in the black last series, and her in the white without the hair dye this series was really good. I love the asthetic of the wedding scene. It seems really beautiful, but I suppose its an obvious mechanic to mask the dark truth. I just find the clash of the snow and mostly black outfits, Sansa in her white dress, Theon with the lantern, and the Heart Tree... Its a great scene, not a happy scene, but visually stunning.

In the latest episode it looks like Sansa had reverted back to one of her old Northern hairstyles, which was lovely to see Very similar to this:

She's been so great. It's a shame but just like Deb Riley taking up where Gemma Jackson left off, I'm sure they'll find someone good to continue the good work.
Here's a quote from the article I liked about Dany's dresses:
'There's a secret underneath all those gowns, too. "I still always put trousers underneath because in her psyche anything might go wrong and [she's always thinking], 'I might need to run away,'" Clapton says. "Even with the longest, most beautiful gowns, she always wears a pair of boots and trousers. I like that sense of, 'I can play this [queen] but underneath, I can run.'"'

I liked that too. It definitely explains why she was prepared at Daznak

I can't shade the costumes in Dorne too much when you have a shot of Trystane standing there wearing that looking fine af

It's funny, looking at that image of the Dornish costumes that sati linked above and thinking back about Rome's costumes (given that it's costume designer will be on GoT for s6)...it seems it's an HBO tradition to put Indira Varma in see-through clothing.

OMG what if that was Cat's wedding dress? They look like one Bran had in season 1 Cat actually often had one of those Tully pins on her dress.

Bump, bump, bump! One of my favourite threads. Obviously a lot of characters are still in the same clothing as in S5, but the trailers gave us a hint on what's to come in the upcoming episodes. Some picks from 6.01 and 6.02: Cersei's lion dress (That isn't new right? But it is stunning dress, so it deserves reposting) Grey Worm has got some proper clothing ( at Jakob Anderson) My girl Arya is in brown rags again. Trystane's last scene. Well, at least he looked nice while dying..?

Dresses this year so far have seemed a little less ornate, more toned down. I believe they got a new costume designer though, correct? They are still lovely, especially the last couple of 'mourning' gowns Cersei has worn. No one else is dressed up much (yet) considering they are either A) In prison B) Captives of Dothraki C) Running through snowy forests half frozen D) Beggar on the street or E) Dead ... This season thus far has started out quite dismal by fashion standards! We do have this lovely piece to look forward to SOON for Sansa though!

The Baratheon outfits were ones I always loved, especially when you take Donal Noye's comment about Stannis and Renly into account.

They may not be pretty from our perspective nowadays, but I just love how the creative department just nails down every aspect of creating a distinctive culture.
