So, GRRM is definitely not writing any scripts for S7 either. this is a very good sign I think we know how much he likes to write other things and he probably has a million things to write, so him dropping everything for TWOW makes me super optimistic that he's actually pretty close to finishing. I hope he takes a similar approach to ADOS

GRRM has a million things on his plate: editing Wild Cards, running his theater, attending conventions, traveling abroad and blog writing on every topic imaginable. He's contracted to read through the outlines that D&D created for the upcoming season and provide feedback.
Let's face it, the man is entitled to do what he wants. Fair or unfair, we are entitled to perceive that he's distracted, lazy and his best writing is behind him.
I'm still guessing that Season 7 outlines aren't actually done and won't be until April-May. There is 0% chance that GRRM will done when it's time to write the scripts for season 7.
And by doing so, he'll think he just bought himself a year because he's focusing on Winds.
Yeah, right.

He is clearly NOT a lazy dude, for the reasons you literally just outlined. Distracted, yes, he certainly is. But calling him lazy is extremely unfair. And I've never understood the outrage over his blog. Its not that big a deal to just sit down and write a little blog post. It gets the juices flowing, it can be a nice break from other work, it can massively relieve stress. Those are all perfectly legitimate reasons to have a blog and those are why I have one. It's really not a huge problem. We won't get the book any faster if he stops writing his blogs. I understand the frustration, but some people are way too harsh on this guy.

The part about blog is spot on - I would jump out of window if I couldnt rant on mine

If you want to call it more distracted, than lazy - I can give you that a little. There are pretty clear signs that he's lazy - and let's face it - it's a subjective term. To some sitting on the couch watching TV is lazy. To some, that's work when you are reviewing it. I'm busy writing in this forum, but my bosses would tell me I'm being lazy on the internet. I get the impression that he'd rather do anything, except for continue finishing his magnum opus (ASOIAF). I'm sure creative writing is incredibly complex but I can only go by his own trends here. I have no idea when he started AGOT, but he was able to write Books 2 and 3 just 2 years apart from one another. He takes 5 years to write AFFC and 6 more years with ADWD. We are 5+ years waiting for TWOW. And let's face it Book 4/5 had some nice moments, but it also didn't have an ending. The timeline was fucked by splitting the two books and now it's equally fucked moving forward. Those books weren't his best. I like his blog and I think highly of the man. He's brilliant, seems rather kind and wonderfully creative. But I think there are too many sheep out there just willing to give the guy a pass. Some his blog entries aren't "little blog post". Maybe you'll come around to my thinking a bit IF books 6 and 7 never make into our hands.

HBO has a free preview this weekend. They usually do this when one of their big shows comes back, in this case, Girls. With a free preview, this would be a good time to drop that GoT trailer. What do you think?

What do you think? I would light a candle in hope of this happening, but I've already lit all my candles for Mama Bear, so..

Tower of Joy. That's what he's talking about. Pretty much. And hopefully a few other mysteries too. Like Varys's show-motivations maybe.

I'm guessing Tower of Joy and how the Weirnet works, possibly.

And if Bloodraven was indeed behind the Stark kids getting their wolves or something like that, I imagine that would count too.

Is it realistic to still hope for Coldhands appearance somewhere along the show (not necessarily S6 though) ?
