Season 6 General Speculation v8

I'm sure Thoros will be back at some point.

And IIRC Richard Dormer has said that he won't be back?

My suspicion is that Thoros will be back. Paul Kaye's response in an interview was similar to Tim Plester's, Tobias Menzies' and other Riverlands actors who are confirmed to be back ("my character's still alive", "hopefully no more weddings", etc).

It was Richard Dormer who said he didn't ever expect to be back.

What are some of the crazy theories?

That he was "Urrathon Night-Walker" in Qarth who Xaro said had glass candles which were burning. Because there's an ancient Greyjoy who Asha thinks about in one of her ADWD chapters who was called Urrathon, who was unseated in a Kingsmoot because one son wasn't present. Which is the precedent Asha wants to use via Theon. Just the idea that Euron has glass candles, plus Warlocks and his potential Faceless Man connection (though this theory didn't believe in that), makes him all the more formidable. Particularly if he sticks around for a while.

I was always hyped for him too. But now I'm like  hyped.

Honestly, the more information I hear about S6... the less excited I feel. I'm trying to remain optimistic, but so far, we have next to no HQ stills, no trailer or shorts besides Jaime, Cersei, Ramsay, Daenerys (why no Starks???), a line by Bran and Bloodraven, absolutely nothing on the Brotherhood Without Banners, all the rumors sound silly...

I'm so negative I know. Just needed to say that and get it off my chest.

That said, I'm really excited for Sam's arc, and the introduction of Euron. I know people are a bit iffy on the actor, but so were alot of people with Pedro Pascal, who was acclaimed as Oberyn. Willing to give him a chance. And we see The Reach!!!!!! Hopefully its like how I imagined, France during the 18th Century.

Dreading Davos learning that Melisandre and Stannis killed Shireen. If done well, it could be one of the most heartbreaking scenes on the show. We were denied Tysha, so give us this at least.

I know I sound negative, but I'm really, really trying to be positive. I am going to watch the show, despite many people telling me I should stop watching. Have no plans to.

I wonder if they even have.Davos learn the extent of Melisandre's madness and cowardice. I assume in writers' minds the time can be better spent on somrthing else and they will never address it again

I know it's not a theory heavily supported right now, but I have this eerie feeling that LSH will be present in season 6.  

I think there is some evidence, that supports it:

#1 - D&D has never ruled her out.  Ever.
#2 - Minor Frey character casting and Lothar expected to return.
#3 - Outlaws in Season 6 (BWB probably)

Plus I always thought that they wanted to maximize Jon's resurrection by making his the first one shown on screen.  While, Jon's death changed him, he's still in essence the character we know from the beginning.

Catelyn resurrection couldn't go worse.  She's returns a monster.  

Finally some optimism!

I think they may tone down the most fantastical elements (his connection to warlocks, for instance), while still suggesting that something is very wrong with this character. That would probably make him even creepier.

I'm very excited about Euron because he could be the first top-tier villain who isn't a caricature of evil, but something altogether more disturbing (unlike Joffrey and Ramsay, although I love Joffrey just the way he is...)
