actually never mind i'm pretty sure D&D were talking about season 6 and not season 7 in regards to that KL scene. and i'm pretty sure it was the jaime rescuing margaery scene they were talking about I don't think so. That was shot in Girona in Spain. Only one scene was shot in Dubrovnik this year, the scene where Cersei waits for Jaime's ship with the Mountain by her side.

Also when D&D were talking about making this change in the writers room, they were obviously talking about S7 since the podcast was released yesterday. Around 45 minutes, they said that they're still editing S6 and going in tomorrow for sound, while also outlining S7.

It's mindblowing to know that Season 7 is already been outlined. GOT is like a well oiled machine now. D&D and the production team work really hard, all year round. That's something the haters never consider. They clearly love this story and this world. They spend all year working on it, traveling, away from their families. That's one of the reason because I was so happy to see them winning the Emmys (even when Season 5 was not my favorite, they deserved every recognition they got).

It confirms at least that the real end of the KL arc is being saved until s7. Which I always suspected but it's good to know for sure.

It was still pretty important during season 5. It deserves a big finish and season 6 is already packed as it is. No, the end of KL could even be material for a massive setpiece in 7x09. It's that important.

when do you guys think Daenerys reaches KL? I personally believe that she's the younger more beautiful queen of Cersei's prophecy so I feel like a Cersei/Dany confrontation has got to go down.

I always thought S7 was about Dany playing the game in the South, while the North is invaded by WW. Or at least that's what I hope. So Dany reaching KL could be the climax of S7. But then there's also the theory that Cersei burns down the city and that Jaime kills her. So maybe these things are all combined in one big episode. I'm totally speculating here, but it sounds awesome.

As Kairos said above, I think 709 would be a fitting place. My guess is that Dany's army along with a Dornish host will besiege KL then. I'm unsure where the Tyrells will stand at this point and a lot of the rest of the logistics of it all. Nor do I know how Jaime would be able to be allowed past those forces and into the city. But that's when I think the Wildfire shenanigans and the Valonqar showdown will occur as well. So like Blackwater it could be an episode as much about the battle outside KL and the drama inside the Red Keep. But this time it wouldn't end well for the Lannisters.

lol either way you put it, it sounds like a huge clusterfuck. personally i'm kind of partial to the idea of Dany/Cersei in Casterly Rock. that would also fit with the image of Dany arriving in an abandoned and destroyed Red Keep.

It is interesting to speculate where Euron will stand in all of this. I haven't read many theories about him siding with Cersei myself but I guess that's possible to some extent. Either way I do see him lasting about that long. I think he'll become a pretty prominent villain in s7. As Kairos said above, I think 709 would be a fitting place. I love how this fandom always decides what the next Episode 9 HAS to be before we even have a freaking clue.
