I have many, but top of my list is Bad , 1977, sometimes known as Andy Warhol's Bad. (Wharhol produced a handful of films with his name in the titles, "Wharhol's only involvement was to attract financing and the use of his name as a 'hook', he did not direct or really have much of anything to do with them). Carroll Baker runs a sort-of boarding house combined Electrolysis Parlor but seems to make most her money being the 'mafia boss' of an all girl hit squad! Perry King comes as a boarder but is a for hire contract hit man. Susan Tyrrell plays Baker's daughter-in-law with the ugliest baby you have ever seen. If you watch the first 15 min. , with the sound off, you'd think you were watching a TV sitcom. But this movie is insane! It is played with an atmosphere of detachment. Think of a David Lynch film that is 1000 times more crazy than a David Lynch film! " Bad focuses on Hazel Aiken, a New York housewife who has to support a houseful of relatives on her own. She pays the bills by operating an electrolysis service out of her home and also by running a murder-for-hire service staffed exclusively by women that specializes in unsavory jobs like killing children and house pets!" NY Times The women in this film are all stronger than all the men, and seriously demented. This film is totally crackers! BAD

I think one of my favorites is pretty obscure. Trust by Hal Hartley.

I think one of my favorites is pretty obscure. Trust by Hal Hartley. I had not seen that one. I did not see this film The Tiger Makes Out in 1967 when it was released. Later on TV. Eli Wallach and Anne Jackson. A very off center comedy that is a big surprise.

I'm a big fan of the Warhol horror films, Flesh for Frankenstein and Blood for Dracula. Udo Kier is especially hilarious in the latter. "The blood of these whores is killing me!"

The 10th Kingdom. It's not really a movie, but rather a miniseries with five episodes, and it's obscure as fuck, but absolutely brilliant. This is one of my favourite and most nostalgic things to watch, especially around Christmas. Watch the incredible opening:

Dreamland. It's a little seen indie that I absolutely adore.
But for more of an obscure movie, I'd say Kaboom. That movie was really out there and I liked it.

They Came Together. I feel like everybody missed it when it came out but I found it on Netflix over the summer and the fuckin weirdest, most hilarious shit I've seen in a while.

Melanie Laurent <3
She would have easily been my favorite part of Inglourious Basterds if not for Waltz being completely brilliant in it.
Really liked her in The Begginers too.

As far as I can tell Return of the Secaucus Seven is kind of totally forgotten. I really love John Sayles work. The Brother from Another Planet Passion Fish Men with Guns Lone Star The Secret of Roan Inish
are some of my favorites. Had heard that Sayles stopped making films , maybe he did, but is doing TV work now.

Why Jim Jarmusch's films are not in most top USA film polls also amazes me.
It did have critical success with Down by Law
My favorite and still one of the best films of the 1980's is Stranger than Paradise , a unique film like none other that I have ever seen. And funny as hell.
I love Mystery Train , Night on Earth , Dead Man, Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai...
Jarmusch has never been nominated for an Academy Award , I suppose someday he will get an honorary one.

Another one is Mysterious Skin. I think it's more well known now that Joseph Gordon-Levitt has gotten bigger, but no one paid attention to it when it came out. JGL is wonderful in it.
