I thought your kind was rare It is rare but it's also relentless Anyways this thread is about Mother so lets get back on track I feel like so many things are happening in the pit and there will not be any taming of Drogon. I mean she is being surrounded and attacked so she is hardly going to reprimand him for burning them

It already appears we won't have Barristan's badass "try me" line.

Daznak is my second favourite chapter of the entire series (bested only by Sansa's snow castle/Moon Door), so I too will be pissed if they ruin it. But I wouldn't be surprised if they make some changes that kind of butcher it all to hell. I feel like the entire conflict with the Meereen arc this season has been shrunk down to the Sons of the Harpy which, in terms of streamlining etc and changes that need to be made for adaptation, I'm fine with, but I think it gives them the opportunity to have Dany hop on Drogon, fry the Sons of the Harpy who are there and then... return to Meereen, planning to leave for Westeros straight after. If they cut her in the Dothraki sea I'm also sad enough that we won't get this gem:

I can't see Drogon even being vicious towards her as we have already seen this season that he still recognizes her and in no way cares to harm her

I subscribe to the theory that he was drawn to Meereen because of their bond, since he appeared literally just as she shed her floppy ears and had her "fuck it all!" moment, and I think with that he kind of has to still recognise her lol. I think he was just testing her, to get her to prove to him that she was worthy of riding him.

I hope I am wrong. I agree about the bond-her needing him probably drew him in.

I just hope she flies. It's gonna cause nerdgasm in everyone Preach, sistah. I think there is a risk of them ruining it, but no matter what they do, people all over the shop are going to lose their shit. Unless they REALLY ruin it by, like, idk, having Tyrion come along for the ride also.

She must fly. They won't skip such an epic scene. It's an amazing opportunity to get team Dany fans absolutely pumped up for the next season.

I hope I am wrong. I agree about the bond-her needing him probably drew him in. He was definetely testing her. They've actually been been bonded for a very long time, the events of Daznak's Pit and later the Dothraki sea helped solidify that bond. If you remembers Dany II AGOT - she dreamt with a black and red dragin, this is even prior to her receiving her dragon eggs. Then later in Dany III AGOT when she contemplated killing herself it was Drogon who came to her in her dreams and healed her. Finally, we have two important moment in ADWD. In the pit when Drogon is speared in the back, him and Dany scream as one, and of course Dany then faces him down. Then we see that at the end of ADWD when Dany finally embraces her role as the !other of Dragons, Drogon and her share his kill. A dragon would never share their meal with anyone but by then they had completed their bonding process. And as for the show, I can't see them passing on either the taming or the flying. It's too awesome a scene to really leave out. They have generally been very good about the major Dany scenes, sans HOTU. I'm thinking the pyre and Astapor.

Should top the Dracarys scene in S3 if they do it right. That scene was my second favorite in 3, RW being best of course. Hopefully they do it justice. I did like the taming though. Made it more realistic. Uh as much as riding a dragon could be anyway. Heh.

The flying scene will be just breath-taking. Say what anyone will about the show's adaptations, but those dragons are magnificent. And I, too, hope we see Dany and Drogon sharing one of his kills. Ha, the Unsullied will go nuts! I can see the gifs already: How to bring your unruly teenager under control--why just join him in munching some bloody, mangled raw sheep guts, of course! Works for me. dragon2

We already know Drogon arrives in Daznak's Pit by this . If Dany doesn't ride Drogon, it would be very anticlimatic. They are clearly building up to that moment in the show.
