Ant-Man opens this week, so I thought I'd create a MCU thread. I know that there are already MCU threads for the individual films and if you want to you can still open one for Ant-Man, but I always like to discuss these films in the greater scheme of things. This can also be used for speculation on future movies and tv shows. Who is seeing Ant-Man and when? I'll go on Monday and I must say that I'm surprisingly excited. I'm not the biggest MCU fan. I mean, don't get me wrong, I don't hate the movies, I just think that they're a bit generic and inconsistent quality-wise. Daredevil, on the other hand, is one of the best things to ever grace my tv screen. So there's that. Ant-Man just looks like great fun. I'm curious about it. How would you rank the movies? From best to worst for me: Guardians of the Galaxy The Avengers The Winter Soldier . . . . HUGE GAP . . . . Iron Man Thor 2 Iron Man 3 Thor . . . Another gap . . . Captain America Age of Ultron Iron Man 2

I pretty much enjoyed every movie that had this guy in it: I was genuinely in love with Tom Hiddleston for a while. I got over it, kinda, but I still think Loki is the best thing to come out of all these Marvel movies, that are not X-Men.

My MCU crush will always be Chris Pratt, though. To this day I'm convinced that Marvel Studios included this solely for my pleasure and entertainment:

I own Guardians of the Galaxy on Bluray, but I haven't seen it yet. The last Marvel movie I saw was Age of Ultron, and it didn't quite live up to my expectations. I love this scene from the first Thor movie, it's pretty great in terms of acting, imo.

Hulk is not part of the MCU. Yes, the Edward Norton one is. My mistake then, I didn't think it was. In that case it would probably be right above IM2 at the bottom of my list.

That's probably a good thing. I like Edward Norton, but he wasn't right for the Hulk. I'm still hopeful for a good Hulk movie at some point.

I saw Ant-Man today, when it premiered in Finland. It was a very good movie and the final fight was just gold. So was Rudd as always. Darren Cross aka the Yellowjack was one of the most boring MCU villains. Only Abomination and Ronan are more boring.
GotG was amazing in the first time, great in the second and weirdly just good in the 3rd time.
I'd rank Marvel movies this way:
1. Avengers: Age of Ultron 2. Marvel's Avengers 3. Iron Man 4. Ant-Man (hype, I guess?) 5. Captain America: The Winter Soldier 6. Guardians of the Galaxy 7. Iron Man 3 8. Thor: The Dark World 9. Thor 10. Iron Man 2 11. Captain America: The First Avenger 12. The Incredible Hulk

Not that I should ever explain myself when someone "questions my taste" , but I liked it, it was funny, Scarlett looked her best there and it was entertaining. I find number 1 overrated and number 3...well, what the fuck with the villains made out of fire. And part 2 had Sam Rockwell. Never understood the negativity it received.

They're all quite entertaining, and none of them are downright bad, but I have trouble ranking them as they're all so similarly vanilla, safe, and afraid to take chances. But from what I've seen, the best are probably Guardians of the Galaxy and Iron Man 3 because somehow the directors managed to sneak a bit of vision past Marvel. I haven't seen Ant Man, Avengers 2, or either Captain America yet.
