Not news but more of the same I've found digging about on twitter. Hopefully we get some new confirmations throughout the week.

Do D&D and by extension HBO really think book readers would be able to keep their mouths shut about book theories to show-only fans? In other words, did they really think everyone thought jon snow was dead for good? I think the average viewer is expected to take it at face value at least. I don't think many of them would be acquainted with these theories if not for some of these articles on the subject that have been circulated or if their book reader friends wanted to comfort them about it all. no trust me, every show-only viewer has asked me "is jon snow really dead?" and some i know have actually looked up these articles that literally ever popular news website has posted on 'R+L=J'. and there are heaps of youtube videos out there. but i'm assuming other show-only viewers have come across these things, which if they have facebook isn't that hard to come across really.

Well, they are now because mainstream media sites are reporting on all of this (though technically they could've been since 2011). Which is expected, I guess, but I don't think those considerations figure directly into the decision to leave his death as the s5's ending.

Well, they are now because mainstream media sites are reporting on all of this (though technically they could've been since 2011). Which is expected, I guess, but I don't think those considerations figure directly into the decision to leave his death as the s5's ending. no they didnt figure it in which is the mistake on their behalf. same thing happened with LSH I don't think any TV or film company, even major movie studios, have quite figured out how increasingly transparent social media has made their process and how to work around that properly. People tweeting set photos and other people leaking info has made it all a kind of Wild West. I think it would drive any person involved in producing something huge like GoT crazy to have design and cater their work towards how the internet will report on its production and what set info will be unintentionally revealed or even leaked. There's no real stopping it all or safeguarding against it really, so at that point they kindof have to just hope that the press don't report the info that will come out. And of course the press always does. Which is an entirely different story. But the internet democratizing information has made it very hard to keep these sorts of things secret anymore.
So really focusing on what might or might not leak is a maddening consideration. Really they should just work on s6 and hope as little leaks as possible. That said, I'm sure a ton of stuff will. Especially with the added interest of us being all off-book now and hungry to know what happens next. That gives news-sites an opportunity for page-views that they couldn't rationally deny themselves, whether or not it's right or wrong to circulate such info outside of the fandom.

I think they should have talked to the Walking Dead folks. Lennie James (Morgan) talked about in order to hide his character's return, he did not stay anywhere near where the cast usually stays. They had him stay at a bed and breakfast out of the town they film in and the people staying at the B&B had to sign a non disclosure agreement not to reveal he was there or in the area. Lennie stated that one of the guests saw him at the B&B and said, "You are the reason why we had to sign a NDA!"
What's done is done. I am pretty sure the average viewer knows he's back and most likely they suspected he would be at some point.

I remember being disappointed at how much of The Dark Knight Rises was spoiled by set photos, I saw the movie on opening day and knew ever major plot point and twist. It's my own fault for following the production, but for some reason, I didn't think so much of the film could be spoiled, and dismissed most of the set reports as troll jobs. In hindsight, it was almost embarrassing to see Christopher Nolan and his actors go on the record to deny some of the rumors which were absolutely true.

It's hard to believe that actor is actually 37. What actor? The kid who plays Robert Arryn in like 14.

It's strange how dogged some film makers are about the the content of their films. Ridley Scott denied that Prometheus was a prequel to Alien. When the film finally showed, it was a prequel to Alien. After release Scott , double overthinking, said " the film shares "strands of Alien 's DNA, so to speak". Ok, but I don't buy it. Film had great production values but as someone said, " "caters too much to imagined audience expectations."

They clearly under-estimated us Judging by unsullied reaction videos I watched, and good grief, I watched a lot of them, people were really upset. Really, really upset. In some ways, they were more upset than they were about the Red Wedding, because the show left them no one to root for in Westeros. Dany still seems far away, Tyrion is with her, and all the other contenders are dead. If it weren't for book readers saying "but Azor Ahai!" I think they risked really losing a good portion of their audience to no longer giving a flip. I saw lots of people say they just hope the White Walkers kill everyone now, and I think they meant it.

I am pretty sure the average viewer knows he's back and most likely they suspected he would be at some point. I totally agree with this and have mentioned it in the past before filming started that they could have done with Kit what they did with Lennie James last year with TWD. It's not completely unreasonable and HBO has the clout to pull it off. Kit would have been a good sport about it too I'm sure. Everyone speculated that Lennie's character Morgan was coming back to the show after being gone for several seasons but there were no spoilers, leaks or sightings to prove it. It made the anticipation for the season finale really hyped. The fact that HBO does absolutely nothing to cover up their own denials of Kit's return is odd to me. It feels contrived and done purposely but sort of makes them look stupid. If they had no intentions of trying to cover up the return, why say he was gone for good on more than one occasion? Color me confused. Do D&D and by extension HBO really think book readers would be able to keep their mouths shut about book theories to show-only fans? In other words, did they really think everyone thought jon snow was dead for good? I think they risked really losing a good portion of their audience to no longer giving a flip. I saw lots of people say they just hope the White Walkers kill everyone now, and I think they meant it. Yeah I would have to say the reaction videos of unsullied I watched were overwhelmingly negative and upset and not in the way the Red Wedding was done which had finality and closure I guess you could call it. One thing about human nature, we hate being left hanging more than we hate the death itself. That's why so many go into denial and cannot find closure when someone goes missing and is presumed dead after a long time. I realize these are just fantasy characters, not real life, but emotions are still emotions even if it's just a pretend person you've invested years into following and supporting on a show. HBO is walking a thin line with this. If their intent was to rile fans intentionally, they chose a good way to do that. Leaks, spoilers and general mass media hype is only fuel to the fire at this point. Perhaps they decided to "let" Kit be seen at the airport to help relieve some of the pressure that's built up over many of the statements made in recent interviews that Jon Snow is gone for good and Kit's not coming back? Maybe the whole thing was done on purpose that way.

I wonder how many days it will take before each and every paper can make a headline about him being in Belfast?

This photo screams for so many memes. Yeah if you go to the daily mail article there's a whole string of them the paparazzi caught of them in full convo/laughing mode. Even one of Kit trying to smile! I honestly am not sure Kit can smile any better than he can wink. Tons of great meme material!

They are not even trying to hide it. If Kit is being papped in Belfast at this point, you might as well let him take pics with fans.

Here's the one where Kit and Ben are laughing. As gorgeous as Kit is, he has the most awkward smile/laugh I think I've ever seen, haha. That and his inability to wink make him adorable.

I see Kit has taken the Sansa-style approach to disguising yourself: "Wear a hood and they'll never suspect anything!"
