My husband and I were both saying how stupid it is of them to try to hide Kit. I said they should have done whatever they were going to do with Jon at the end of season 5 or strongly hinted at it, so fans would know he's coming back but just not when. All of this cloak and dagger Kit stuff which eagle eyed fans are seeing right through by SPOTTING KIT in Belfast several times is just dumb.
I agree, from my experience having kids, I imagine Lena's stuff will be filmed later. Probably September/October. I know the first season they worked around her pregnancy and new baby.

I think the real mistake was in Kit saying categorically that he wouldn't be back at all in s6 in any capacity. If he'd said, "I have some scenes next year as my corpse but I am dead" this fuss could've been avoided.
There's also a question of how much the mainstream (or non-fandom) press should be reporting of these spoilers. In previous years when the spoilers existed in print, the press didn't report them as breaking news. They sat on the spoilers for those who hadn't read the books and waited it out. Now that they are breaking news but they are actually even more spoilery, it seems they're being more widely-covered than ever before. It's funny how that works. But I can't say I blame them. They're not going to forego the amount of page-views such info generates for anything.

And I think if Jon was never meant to stay dead (we probably all agree on that he's definitely coming back) it would have made for a better cliffhanger, if they had hinted at something. If for example warging was involved in his resurrection (which I actually think could be the case in the books), his eyes turning white would have made for an incredible cliffhanger. All the Unsullied (and even book readers) would have gone insane over that, we'd all be like, WTF did just happen?! And this kind of ending wouldn't have created the need to hide Kit from the public eye. |

Like if they had really wanted to hide Kit they could have had him fly in on a private jet and driven around a car with tinted windows and basically just hide him for the entirety of his filming. That's the only way they cold have attempted to keep the secret.

It wouldn't have been that difficult to at least hide Kit's arrival if they really wanted to but they didn't even try, nor did Kit even attempt to look like he was hiding. Apparently a fan said he wasn't allowed to do photos, but wtf... that just makes it even more obvious! Sometimes I think HBO does this stuff on purpose... free advertising with crazy fan hype! |

And again, the show-writers have never been shy about teasing Kit on his hair. It's a thing. He even mentioned one of the scripts for the Hardhome scene - where he's standing at the bow of the boat coming into the docks, it said for description "Jon Snow standing in the bow of boat like George Washington, but with better hair..." (or something like that) which is hilarious! Jon's hair is a major selling point and HBO is probably behind #KitHairWatch in the first place! |

I don't think many of them would be acquainted with these theories if not for some of these articles on the subject that have been circulated or if their book reader friends wanted to comfort them about it all. |
