They are still going with 70 odd hours in total for the show. At the rate the cast is going, there is a very good chance we'll be hearing "So they got their startt on Game of Thrones?"
Richard Madden was already quoted as saying if it wasn't for GoT, he would have gotten nowhere near the room to audition for Cinderella.

Being a long long long time viewer of TV and film, well I took interest as a teenager in the 1950's, Fast Times at Ridgemont High is not on my radar. I know of it, but was never interested in it. Some TV from the 50's and 60's did make an impression on me Twilight Zone , Have Gun will Travel, various shows that Ernie Kovacs and Steve Allen did, later The Smothers Brothers and later again All in the Family, later The Simpsons, ... I don't even remember what 'Ridgemont High' was about! LIke to see what influence GoT has on Science Fiction and Fantasy TV and maybe film, these genres have been doggedly juvenile for a long time having rare kin of the prose forms from which they sprung. GoT is decidedly Adult , it hasn't really had many imitations has it?

I thought it was strange to go from 70 hours to 70 'odd' hours. There was a list of actors who got 'season' seven contracts (still not a complete list , seems) , anyone ever ask one those actors if they really got a seventh year extension?

I can see them getting funded for spin off series, like Dunk and Egg, the Long Night, RR, Dance of Dragons etc. I can see this series raking in those dollars for years. I'd like to them do an aniversery thing in like 20 years, but I have a feeling the likes of Kit Harrington, Maisie Williams, Sophie Turner, Emilia Clarke and so on are gonna be big stars in the next few years regardless.

When GoT ends, D&D should remake the show, with a new cast and new scripts, and I will rant and rave about the changes they make and how they bastardized Stannis' story by white washing him in the new show.

Stannis: The sympathetic dad whose daughter dispises him despite all his efforts and his wife who loathes his inability to give her a son. Meanwhile Dany is an arrogant woman who frequently forces herself on her timid husband Khal Drogo and abuses her good hearted yet mentally unsettled brother Viserys.

It would actually be kind of cool to do spinoffs of the various major houses as the surviving heirs age and start families of their own - even just episodes dedicated to those Houses as prologue kind of stuff. Much the way many of us are enjoying the Forresters in the Tell Tale Game of Thrones game.

I wonder if they'll regret leaving anything out by the time all the books are published?
