I thought I would share my early impressions of Season 5.
You guys know I'm a big supporter of D&D. Overall this season was very good, however just like its adapted content (AFFC/ADWD), they did have some real trouble spots:
-While I was okay with Jaime and Bronn change, the Dorne stuff was awful, starting with the corny Sand Snakes. Bad fight scenes and dialogue everywhere. It's hard for me to follow the purpose of this subplot: understanding why Doran would send his only heir to Kings Landing. Maybe there will be a payoff next season, but it was a huge flop for me. -Putting Sansa in Winterfell was a great idea. But...we needed some type of silver-lining from Sansa. The closest thing we got is a glimmer of hope for her character (now that she knows Bran and Rickon are alive). But that doesn't change the fact that she's always been a victim and frankly we needed some vengeance. In season 4, it looked like she was ready to take the next step, kind of an Arya step and this felt flat. I think it would have been proper ending to see Sansa kill Ramsay before escaping with Theon. -Stannis sacrificing Shireen. This mistake is on George RR Martin. To kill your only heir is just stupid. Book Stannis is less likable then show Stannis so I could believe he would do it. The logistic difference from the books make it pretty tough. Still it character-assassinated a character that we all end up loving until S509 -The NW FTW betrayal in the books were more believable TBH since Jon was about to intervene at WF. I think they could have used Sansa rape as a reason to get Jon to intervene, which would have been a legit reason for FTW. Jon is simply more noble (just like Tyrion actually) in the show, then he his in the books. -No whispers for Theon at the Weirwood tree
Positive points, however:
-Getting rid of the Mance silly resurrection/WF subplot from the books. -The early season content at The Wall were excellent. (Stannis/Mel/Jon/Davos/Sam) -Hardhome was an awesome book change. Maybe my favorite episode in the series. -All scenes with Tyrion and Daenerys were excellent, although I wish Selmy was still alive. -Backstories for Rhaegar/Lyanna/Mad King were great to have and should have huge payoffs later. -Cersei/KL/HS/FM: right on point. -Dropping fAegon storyline (Jon C included) -Varys supporting the proper Targaryen -Tabling Riverlands until next season -Tabling Bran -Keeping Pycelle and Kevan alive and well until next season -Brienne arc much better in show than books especially if no LSH.

Is there a place on here where we can see how much screentime every character got this season? I know there were ones for the first four eps but can't find a completed one.

Is there a place on here where we can see how much screentime every character got this season? I know there were ones for the first four eps but can't find a completed one. It was mainly one IMDB user who was calculating that. He hasn't updated the screentime yet, so we'll just have to be patient!
