I honestly don't know anything.
I just hope it's better than what we got.

The victory won't be Stan's. Even if he survives it, Manderly and the Umbers will betray him. Early TWOW will kill him somehow. The real victory will go to the folks who want to install Rickon in WF.

I don't think Stannis would be opposed to having a Stark in Winterfell though. He respected them so much. Even with Robb Stark going against him, since he's dead maybe Stannis is over it?

He'd probably try to make Rickon burn the Godswood though.

I get the feeling he left Mel at Castle Black for a reason. Book Stannis isn't so fanatical as show Stannis. He's more into the magical side of Mel's powers than the Lord of Light.

I get an awful feeling that Manderly may side with LF, since he seems so sure that he has a winning foothold over the Boltons and Freys.

I remember Jon thinking about doing that, but I don't remember Stannis actually saying it. Maybe it was offscreen.

Burning the Godswood? I don't remember Stannis saying that either. I could be wrong, it's been awhile since I've read those chapters.

Melissandre says to Jon about giving up the Godswood. Like I said, I think part of the reason Stannis left Mel at Castle Black was to avoid her beliefs threatening his campaign. Stannis belief in the Lord of Light seems be far less in ADWD than ASOS, likely because of the distance between himself and Mel. I always viewed his belief as a belief in Mel's powers. Book!Stannis himself seems fairly uninterested in religion.

Which makes his support of Melisandre and her nonsense all the more annoying. I'd respect him more if he actually believed.

Now somebody talk some shit about Dany and it'll be just like westeros.org! We can't criticize the characters? Nobody is getting nasty in this thread so not sure what the problem is.

Now somebody talk some shit about Dany and it'll be just like westeros.org! No, we have to talk shit about the shows portrayal of Dany for that. George's Dany is the perfect fantasy character, according to reliable sources.
