How the Game of Thrones team pulled off the epic Daznak scen

Riding a giant green turtle was probably hilarious.

It was also nice to read about how they used 500 extras from the city of Osuna Spain where it was filmed. Having been an extra in an Indie film once, I can tell you it's some of the hardest work you'll ever do because while the main actors get to take breaks and are only in a few of the main shots, the extras have to do the same scenes over and over and over for hours on end until the directors are satisfied they got the angles and amount of footage they want for edits later on. When you have that many people in one place, invariably someone's looking the wrong way, picking their nose, laughing when they shouldn't or staring at the camera when they're supposed to be looking elsewhere. I got to be an extra in a roller derby bout and let me tell you, after about 4 hours in my skates I wanted to die. 

By the by saw none of Danny's Dothraki blood riders around her. They have gone out of the way to have them in scenes this season.

They had Kovarro (played by Steven Cole) in season 2 as her surviving blood rider, but he vanishes totally in season 3 with no mention at all. I don't count S2 Mr Dothraki Beard. Cole didn't seem to have much of a speaking role, but I guess keeping a Dothraki 'up-front' was a problem?
