This and Game of Thrones are probably my two favourite shows that are still on air. I can't wait for season 3.

I cannot believe that the show is tonight and for the entire year I haven't found the time to watch last year's finale

The amount of that whole psychological mambo jumbo talk is really driving me crazy in that show also the - ironic coming from LS supported I know - amount of people coming back from the dead But the show looks great as does Mads Mikkelsen

What I don't like is how hard to kill the characters seem to be. If Chilton and the people who seemed to die in that finale are all back, that'll be kindof annoying.

^So did I. I mean he's a good character on the show but he got shot in the head...so he ought to be dead.

I heard that actors may come back but that it doesn't necessarily mean that their characters are still alive. Anyway, I can understand how the "psychological mumbo jumbo" may not be for everyone. I just love how so many scenes consist of only two characters talking about very abstract things and nothing really happens but I still never feel bored. I've recently rewatched the entire show and I still find new things and hidden meanings in the dialogue. I don't know. That in combination with the actors and how the show looks just captivates me in a strange way. I really, really adore Game of Thrones, in fact, I prefer it to Hannibal, but somehow I'm still astounded at how fast the 40 minutes went by everytime I watch an episode of Hannibal.

I liked it. Great atmosphere as always. I'm kindof glad they didn't address who survived the s2 finale and who didn't yet because that'll be kindof jarring IMHO as I expressed above. Florence is beautiful, so it's nice to see Hannibal go there and read some Dante, as I believe he did in one of the books.

Tom Wisdom was brilliant. Wish he stayed around a little longer.

What was the point of Gideon's flashbacks? Just the snail thing?

I believe the point of having Gideon flashbacks, and the point of the whole episode really, is to emphasize the fact that Hannibal - although he thinks everybody else is beneath him - still needs some form of companionship. Gideon was forced to play that role and now Bedelia is forced to play that role, but both of them are really just poor substitutes for Will in Hannibal's eyes.

"Will Graham was not a suitable substitute for therapy" Therapy and companionship are not the same thing. And Bedelia ceased to be the former and is now forced to be the latter. Will Graham was not a suitable substitute for therapy in the same way Bedelia is not a suitable substitute for companionship. Hannibal: "Will Graham was not a suitable substitute for therapy." Bedelia: "What was he?" Bedelia's question implies that Will was more or something else for Hannibal. Later in the episode Gideon says it all: "Snails aren't the only creatures who prefer eating with company, if only that company could be Will Graham"

I'm just eleven minutes into ep. 302 and I have to ask what I've asked myself time and again...how the fuck does this show air on NBC? Jesus Christ, it's more fucking gory and violent than any HBO or Showtime show that I've seen. How on earth do they get away with this?
