Seems to me that have four levels of WW, the Night's King (is he The Great Other's General?), the WW 'captains', the WW without armor are sergeants? (don't know if any were at Hardhome), and the Wights. The Wights seem to come in 'fresh' and 'decayed'. As the seasons have gone by they have kind of 'elaborated' the WW, something George has done little of.

It always annoys me when I watch or listen to reviewers who don't understand the difference between a white walker and a wight ... I hear "They're all the same aren't they?" ... I guess the mystery and power behind the "Others" is too much for mainstream media so the writers stuck with "White Walkers" which too many show fans confuse with "The Walkers" (aka The Walking Dead) so they must all just be zombies. Sigh.

And I dont think NK is any kind of general. He is their king. LC Bran acts on his own and I don't think there is any Great Other.

The Night's king had the same design it looks like they made his skin grey-er (more CGI) to look more like ice. i think he looks better now than in season 4.
i dunno there just seems to be a hierarchy in the ice world just as there is in the real world. Are all WW created from humans? there must be a difference from pure ice men and people like the night's king who became ice demon.
cool thing about the NKs symbol though!

Yeah, I rewatched the scene in ep. 404 to see if he looked different and he didn't really. We just saw him from the baby's POV, which happened to be looking right up his nose. His horns and ears and hands and outfit look about the same though and, despite the mask/prosthetics and everything, I can still somehow see the actor Richard Brake through it. (Probably because I've seen Batman Begins like twenty times and he played Joe Chill in it).

It looks amazing Also the horns sort of look like a crown. noticed the other Others don't have 'horns'

The White Walkers improve in looks every series. More than likely because theyre getting more screen time.
