I don't watch this, but it's set in my homeland (I think?) so it's on my list. And Jack has mentioned it a few times already. So, any good?

I'm really enjoying this show. The Season 1 finale is Saturday. Tobias Menzies does an amazing job portraying a vicious, evil villain and last night's episode was brutal.

Yeah the acting all around is pretty great and the scenery is beautiful. Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan are wonderful and have some of the best chemistry I've ever seen.

If you want to see what Edmure would be like if he broke bad, this is your show. He plays one of the more despicable characters on television.

Tobias Menzies is a total standout on this show. I hope the Emmys take notice.

I love it, too. My daughter said I'd enjoy it, so I binge watched Season 1 back in March. Lucky me, I only had a month to wait until Season 2 aired. I ordered a set of the first 4 books (haven't read yet), and after watching the next to the last episode, Wentworth Prison, I was 'forced' to pull the book out and read what happened next, prior to watching the last episode.
The scenery! I paused the TV to take a picture of Murtagh and Claire racing their horses along in front of the bluest lake imaginable, with green mountains behind them, and those backed by blue-purple mountains, below a gorgeous sky. Then I made it the wallpaper for my phone. If I knew how to attach a photo here, I would. I checked books on Scotland out of the library just this afternoon in anticipation of a visit from my out-of-town brother. Our maternal history goes back and back and back in Scotland, and we hope to travel there sometime next year. Fire and Blood, you are so lucky to live in such a beautiful place! (I'm in North Carolina - we have pretty mountains, and an eastern shore with beaches, but nothing as majestic as what I've seen of Scotland.)
PS - seeing flub-buster Edmure as holy-shit-what-an-unbelievably-sick-sick-psycho-bastard Blackjack Randall has really been strange!

I watched the first 8 episodes when I had a free preview of Starz, it was interesting. I see people comparing some rape scene to GoT now too.

That scene made the GoT rape scenes look like kitten's play. You're right about that! Even though I'd gone to the end of Book I to see what was going to happen in the last episode, thus knew what was coming, I still had to do the hands over eyes things quite a few times.

I started the show tonight because I had nothing to go with my bottle of Merlot and it's pretty good! The scenery and the music have really celtic feel to them which is my all time favorite feel anything can have and the main lady has fierceness a lot like Cat - no one on GoT has that fierceness anymore
