I always enjoy watching the "Inside the Episode" video right after the show to get a little insight into what the producers were going for with certain scenes.
From this one we know:
1. Aemon's advice to Jon echoes the same advice Missandei gave Dany: "Trust your own intuition" ...love the two parallel stories!
2. They've set it up beautifully for "For the Watch" with the unpopularity of Jon's decision to bring the wildlings through the wall. Not a single man (not even Edd!) could speak for it, and Sam was shot down. Some think Jon's not facing enough adversity but I think in the limited context of the show this was displayed quite well - even Olly is pissed at him and we know where that's going to lead. Show-only watchers are riding high on Jon's election to Lord Commander ... they don't have much time to make it obvious his leadership is going to be tested very quickly.
3. Nice explanation of how the tables got turned on Ramsay at dinner while he was being a complete shit to Sansa and forcing Theon to apologize to her which wasn't to humiliate Theon, it was to upset Sansa. I hated that (but it was really well done)! The pregnancy announcement was a great way to show that. I had to re-watch it and re-think it since my initial thoughts were "Roose stop letting your little shit bastard be a cunt! (in my best Sandor voice) ... By quietly letting Ramsay know, in front of Sansa, that he's likely having a son, Ramsay's little balloon of evil got deflated. Loved it! They confirmed "He (Roose) believe's Ramsay's a little better when he's insecure, not secure with his position" so the pregnancy bit was to reign him in and keep him in line and remind him that he's replaceable (oh but so is a baby! )
4. "Seeing Drogon was a very powerful moment for both men but for very different reasons" For Jorah, a huge reminder of the woman he loves and betrayed. For Tyrion, a moment of revelation that perhaps all this terrible stuff that just happened to him in King's Landing isn't really the bigger picture and there's still plenty of reason to live and fight with things he's only read about from books suddenly coming to live right before him! I cried!
