So Braavos and Dorne in the opening credits for what? They don't just change the credits simply because something isn't in that particular episode. I mean, the Watchers on the Wall was only at Castle Black but they didn't just do The Wall in the beginning. They are only going to change the credit sequence if a new and important place comes up.

Amazing episode! I was a bit bummed that we got no "rue the day" from Roose, but I loved that he told Ramsay his "How I Met Your Mother" story. Pretty fitting for Mother's Day! And I can't get over Stannis being a grammar nazi again after three seasons

Anyone else catch how Aemon says "A Targaryen alone is a dangerous thing" and then the camera pans up to Jon?
I loved this episode...I was on the edge of my seat for most of it and even teared up a few times. I was absolutely dreading Sansa seeing Theon. I think Dany is now fully in the 'making mistakes' mode of ruling. I had guessed that Jorah was going to take JonCon's place, but I still didn't want it to be true.
I was also surprised that we didn't get KL at all...but in a good way. I love the heavy focus on the Northern storylines.

Best episode of the season, of course it was written by Cogman. Cogman also wrote 506... Very happy to hear that, I want to see what Cogman does with Arya's arc. Also, I expect Greyscale infection to spread at the rate of plot.

I think this espisode was the closest Stephen Dillane ever got to top billing. He was the fourth name, just behind Kit Harington.

I think Sansa kept the feather she found in the crypts. There was one tied to her glove when Myranda was looking at her dress. I doubt it will have any significance but I thought it was interesting.

The scenery / setting for Valyria and the Stonemen was A-Mazing - very creepy and mysterious. I'm only sorry the stonemen had to go and ruin whatever awesome thing Tyrion was about to say upon seeing Drogon drifting majestically off into the distance.
I knew Jorah was going to get the grayscale, we had pretty much confirmed the speculation and spoiled that but still no easier to accept any more than the change to Barristan's story and death.
Maester Aemon's speech to Jon was perfect. They've really hammered us over the head with the hint for Olly being Brutus in FTW, haven't they?
The dinner scene with Ramsay was appropriately awkward and creepy. I still don't understand why Roose indulges Ramsay in his appalling behavior like that. To me it lessens his power to let that little twit be a complete jackass in front of Sansa but I guess he didn't want to make the situation worse?

Well, Roose didn't exactly 'approve' of Ramsay's behavior. Ramsay got cocky and was flaunting his newfound position...and then Roose knocked him down a few pegs by letting him know that he could be replaced. I'm guessing that Ramsay is going to take that to heart.

I'm guessing that Ramsay is going to take that to heart. It's true, he did quietly put him in his place with the pregnancy announcement. But if you think Ramsay is going to behave himself just because Daddy reminded him who he really is, you're crazier than he is - That man is pure bonafied psychopath ... it's going to drive him over the edge. The only thing I can think probably saved everyone (esp Sansa) from a quicker transformation to Mr. Hyde mode is Roose plotting war with Stannis and the impending attack on it's way. The one thing that will keep Ramsay distracted is something more important to do for Dad that also involves killing which he likes best of all. Hopefully he'll forget about much tormenting of Reek or Sansa while helping Roose plan for war. The wedding will proceed, they'll want to get that out of the way first I suppose ... some tiny part of me was hopeful Stannis would attack before that dreadful occasion could happen but that's wishful thinking.

BTW Dany saying "Round up each of the leaders of Meereen's great families and bring them to me," and Hizdahr's response, "But I'm the leader of my family..." immediately reminded me of this:

So this location ended up being where Tyrion and Jorah landed after the Stone Men encounter. I know some people were hoping that it could have been an Iron Islands scene.

As soon as I saw the scene, I realized this immediately. Although, if there is going to be anything Iron Islands-related this season, I imagine it will be an indoors scene situated right in Pyke so I guess that dream can still be alive.
Regardless, it was an amazing setting for the Jorah/Tyrion scene and they got it at the perfect time with the natural lighting as well. Can't be mad at that.

I think the most important thing about this episode is that we got us some Myranda backstory. Who had kennelmaster's daughter in the pool?

I think this was the most I've ever enjoyed Ramsay, sure that will change next week though. Myranda being the kennelmaster's made that relationship finally make sense for me, two dog lovers falling in love.
Definitely my favorite ep of the season, I doubt anything in the latter half will top it. Suspenseful Winterfell scenes, hints of Sam's still having a maester future, another Jon Snowgaryen hint right after last ep, the return of Stannis the grammar nazi, a great sequence in the ruins of Valyria, and Viserion and Rhaegal finally getting some loving from mama. Good stuff.
