19 new notifications, all from this thread. I will see the episode in the evening, but I want to know, what excuse did Stannis use to send Davos away?

A few more notifications for you now Stannis sends Davos to Castle Black to bring more supplies. He orders Davos to demand them from Jon and tell him that when he takes the throne he'll repay the Watch by giving them enough men to garrison all the 19 castles of the Wall.

Which is a pretty good deal. Not worth getting For the Watched over. But still. The best NW's been offered in some time.

So Davos will clean up the mess after FTW. Is Mel leaving for the Wall?

I wanna see Melisandre stabbed by Selyse. (I never thought I'd root for Selyse, but there's still something left in her, some reasoning, and I hope we see the aftermath in 5.10.)

This quote hits hard after last night:
“It is not a question of wanting. The throne is mine, as Robert’s heir. That is law. After me, it must pass to my daughter, unless Selyse should finally give me a son. I am king. Wants do not enter into it. I have a duty to my daughter. To the realm. Even to Robert. He loved me but little, I know, yet he was my brother.”

Wait, is there a possibility that Mel knew about Ramsay's raid but didn't tell Stannis about it because she knew he'd make the sacrifice if the raid happened?

As a charter member of the Melisandre Hate Club, I'd say hell, yeah. But I've had to rethink my assessment just a bit upon reading a couple of posters say they think Mel really believes that what she's doing is the only way to save their world from total darkness and death - not sure I buy that, but in the episode, it did seem as if she had had a some sort of premonition that caused her to step outside her tent just before the fires began, and I thought the look of uncertainty/apprehension on her face seemed real enough.

Plot twist - Melisandre sees in her fires that she's been wrong and Stannis is not Neo afterall but they're about to die so she decides to convince him to burn Shireen which she then uses to turn the tides against Stannis and have him defeated by either the Boltons or Brienne or something so that she can then go back to Jon Snow. Ramsay's attack and burning the camp's supplies was part of the vision and a convenient way out... Nah, sounds stupid. I hope George has a better plan.
