I'm a bit confused. Somebody straighten me out. Even if Roose gets a new baby boy, wouldn't Ramsey, now legitimized, remain first in line as the eldest? Sooo...? The rules regarding legitimisation are a little foggy, but I think that, as a legitimised bastard he would still come behind all legitimate children. Like if Jon was legitimised he would still come after Bran, Rickon, Sansa and Arya despite being older. Although it really wouldn't make any sense for Roose to marry Ramsay off to Sansa to consolidate his hold on the North, only to then bump Ramsay down a peg in the succession order.

I wonder , couldn't Bolton Jr. be head of House Bolton and Ramsay be a vassal to him? Even if Ramsay is Warden of the North? Not that Ramsay might like that, but better than being a Bastard.

I'm probably being too legalistic about the legitimization given their time and world. In my mind, being legitimized extinguishes all trace of the bastardy (is that a word? ) leaving him the eldest and first in line. And your second point is spot on. Unless roose acts quickly and marries Sansa off to the unborn fetus. I put nothing past the show writers.

I believe GRRM has said that there is no set rule on legitimised bastards vs true born sons. Tremble before my encyclopaedic knowledge!
I think Ramsay is more worried Roose will kill him so that he can have his true son be his heir.

Like Roose said in the books, young kids as the rulers of the house is not a good thing at all.

Reminds me of DwD where he nonchalantly tells Theon that "Ramsay will probably kill them all" when talking about his future sons.

Then what's the point of having Ramsay marry Sansa? The north seems more likely to support a Bolton-Stark heir to Winterfell than a Bolton-Frey.

Ramsay: "I'll kill your kid if you piss ME off."

This is a good catch! Here's hoping for once the writers are as smart as the redditors catching all those hints and being so observant. I love Jorah but if my choice is either him getting it or the speculation about Shireen, it must be Jorah as the reason for all thaat grey scale talk

Wow, that certainly is a great catch! And it certainly seems that it will apply, indeed!

Wow, this is a pretty good catch! I'm going to assume that this makes it pretty clear that Jorah is going to catch greyscale. It's a pretty heavy bit of foreshadowing when you think about it.

Haha Love Ramsays facial expression. It literally dies, kinda like a lot of things around Ramsay.
Also, is this Aemon's finale? I will try not to cry... poor Aemon :,(

I totally missed this thread somehow! Need to stop clicking the 'participated' only button, I'm missing good stuff! I like the idea that Jorah is the one to get grayscale even though I still miss the Griff/Young Griff storyline (it was one of my favorite parts of Essos stuff). Poor Jorah though. As for Ramsay vs. Roose and a new baby. One thing no one's mentioned (or maybe I missed it) is the vast age difference between Ramsay and a Roose Jr. The boy won't be old enough to rule House Bolton for a long time so Ramsay's actually a better choice from a tactical standpoint even if he's a completely terrible choice for personality reasons. He'll likely have everyone flayed and have zero allies pretty soon, even the Freys will probably abandon them since they're such flaky weasels anyways. But if Roose has legitimized him, he can't really put a baby first - that's not wise and if he's as smart as he is portrayed in the books, he won't risk Ramsay threatening his trueborn son ... unless he just intends to have Ramsay killed off once the child is confirmed a son and healthy?
