Davos still has a big part to play in Stannis's story line. I don't have a clue about Melisandre though, she surely has stuff to do with Jon in S6.

Yeah, now that Brienne is going to the North I'm about 80% sure she dies this season.

Does anyone know when they will reveal the titles for episodes 8, 9 and 10?

Does anyone know when they will reveal the titles for episodes 8, 9 and 10? I'm assuming in the month or so, at the earliest

Re the Brienne Mountain thing, I haven't seen the leaked episodes (and don't want to know the answer here from those who have--I want to see it myself) but in the promo sati posted in the Ep. 2 thread, we see Pod being ridden down by some unknown horseman. So, surely Brienne must draw her sword and do battle there, no? Wouldn't that be considered 'combat,' or could she mean trial by combat? Sounds iffy to me. Yes, I believe there are also shots of Brienne fighting/being attacked in those woods too. She's got a fight coming up, that is for sure, and I suspect this is it (as well as other potential fights as she moves North) And, I also wanted to say about the shot people said could be Brienne and Podrick, looking out over what might have been then Neck. I caught The Mountain and the Viper on Sunday night, and I have to say that it was almost definitely the Neck shown in the promo. It matches the Moat Cailin shot really well

Even before we get to any of my subconscious shipping inclinations, just thematically.......Jaime and Brienne need to somehow meet again. Eh, I must remember.....I'm probably thinking bookwise. Let me just say, there is a nice touch from Jaime coming, momentarily, for those worrying. All in all, though, there has to be some type of resolution for them, show wise too. I expect D&D will write whatever they want for now......and try to address something before the show ends? Will be anything the same as the books? I'm doubting it.

Yes, book wise it makes sense for Jaime and Brienne to meet again. But in the show, Brienne is in the North, I suppose trying to look for Sansa. This bothers me. Arya (a young girl in the wilderness, who can easily be killed) didn't want her help, she is okay (I don't mean she is ok with the fact that Arya didn't want her help, but she admits that Arya didn't need her). Sansa (protected by a group of soldiers and is in protection of a somewhat powerful lord) doesn't want her help, but she insists on following her to North. What's the logic? If Brienne gets to Winterfell, she will be killed by Boltons. If Brienne meets Stannis, she will try to kill her and gets killed herself. The optimistic part of me just realized that Brienne will be in Moat Cailin, so that means we will meat VICTARION! HYPE HYPE HYPE!

Should have just gone the book route. People would have bitched but whatever. Either it'll all make sense by the finale or it will have been really dumb. We'll have to wait unfortunately.

D&D core objective is to shrink the story. I doubt we'll lose any Starks, although it's possible Jon's fate will be questionable at the end of the season.
I think there's a good chance we lose Jamie, Bronn and Brienne. I could be wrong (and hope I am!)

I get the feeling both Jaime and Brienne will make it thru the season. Bronn on the other hand?? Between all th issues of extra deaths......the letter writer of Oxford fame, the EW interview, GRRM mentions, and now, one little oddity of Bronn's story this year..........I'm really thinking I'd actually be surprised if Bronn does live. Him making it will surprise me, LOL

I thought they weren't releasing numbers overnight anymore? Any word on overall rating?

I thought they weren't releasing numbers overnight anymore? Any word on overall rating? Those numbers are for Sky Atlantic in the UK not HBO's US numbers. You are correct about HBO not releasing numbers anymore, they used to release the total for the first airing, encores, HBO Go and DVR. Neilsen does have estimates for the first airing of the US premiere. The premiere got a series high 8 million viewers with a 4.19 rating. variety.com/2015/tv/news/game-of-thrones-ratings-hbo-show-returns-with-series-high-1201471361/
