A tribute thread, to both the character and the actor. We have special memories of you, you enriched our GoT experience immensely, and we lost you. *sniff*
Who did you love (and why?) and lose (sniff), in Season 1?

All hail to one of our favorite batshit crazies! Incredible job by Harry Lloyd--I haven't seen or heard from Viserys in years and yet his face, voice and mannerisms are still fresh and new in my memory. We miss you, crazy man!

Ned. I didn't ready the books prior, and I wasn't paying that close of attention to the show either, but as I was messing around on my computer while my husband watched Baelor, I will never forget his face when Ned Stark got his head chopped off. I immediately had to go back and start the series because I could not believe that just happened.
I also wish I could've gotten a video of that because it had to be the world's greatest reaction lol.

Robert & Ned, the best bromance ever seen. Great characters and great actors.

So many good actors who left us that season: Ned: Ned is my absolute favorite character in the books. I like how he is still a presence in the books and show, so many season and books later. Sean Bean brought a warmth, humanity and gravitas to the role that the show still misses to this day. Robert Baratheon: I liked Robert in the books but I thought Mark Addy brought something special to the role and his chemistry with Sean Bean and Lena Headey was spot on. Viserys: I think if Viserys had more seasons on the show, Harry Lloyd would be getting same career boosts that Kit Harington, Emilia Clarke, Richard Madden, etc. are enjoying right now. Harry Lloyd played Viserys the way I imagined Viserys to be. Harry Lloyd's looks in real life are how I imagine Jon Snow in the books. Drogo: This could have been thankless role and Jason Momoa could have been considered just another hunky man in the role. He managed to make Drogo deeper, a viable character and a strong leader. His chemistry with Emilia Clarke was so good and I don't think she's recaptured that chemistry with any other actor like she did with him.

Season 1 was just incredible... Ned, Robert, Viserys and Drogo worked just so well on this show, it's unbeliveable. They may not be closely similar to their book counterparts but they worked on the show like perfection. I miss this season so damn much.

I was watching some GoT scenes from season 1 just for the fun of it. Then I saw this
At the end Ned gets some war flashbacks or somekind of PTSD. A good and a very realistic detail, which I overlooked when I watched the scene the first time. Truly emotional. Watching this scenes made me realize what kind of a character we lost in season 1.

Just when we get attached to him: Is that Ser Waymar Dickhead? Yes, even as a new member of the Night's Watch, he bravely sacrificed himself to save his brothers.. well, extend their lives by a few minutes.

I miss Viserys and Mirri Maz Duur the most, still the best and most nuanced 'enemies' Dany's had to play off of.
