Breaking Bad. I don't think any other show will ever top it for me.

Wow. Tough topic. So much to choose from! In terms of drama, for me it might be "The Shield". Every ep seemed so damn intense. And the series finale might have been the best finale I've ever seen.

Game of Thrones is the best drama show I've watched, and is also the best show as a whole that I've watched.
Arrested Development is my favourite comedy show.

I am one of those insufferable jerks who won't stop telling everyone I meet about how The Wire was the greatest show of all time. It is my gospel to preach.

@jackbauer24, my father (who passed away 5 years ago) absolutely loved 24. It was cannot miss TV for him. Every time I see your screen name, I smile a little thinking of him.
As for me...the best television show of all time...that's a tough one..The Golden Girls, I can still watch episodes over and over again and laugh. MASH, always a classic and a welcome friend here. Breaking Bad and The Sopranos are the best dramas to me.

A huge part of what makes me love a show so much is the discussion and speculation among the fans. Even when I acknowledge that another show is better written, I still prefer the ones that make me go straight to the forums after watching an episode. So far only LOST and GoT have engaged me this way. The Wire would probably have done the same if I had watched it when it was still airing instead of years later.
Breaking Bad was a great show, but the plot was not complex enough to speculate about, with only a handful of characters with pretty clear motives, which made the discussions quite repetitive. Same thing about Vikings now, which is even more limited for being somewhat historically accurate.
So yeah, GoT is pretty much my favorite show right now.

My favorites are Twin Peaks, Lost, and the new Battlestar Galactica.
The one that I think was probably the best all the way from beginning to end was Breaking Bad.
I reckon GoT will be at the top of that first list when it's over.
Oh dang, I almost forgot Whedon! Other favorites: Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Firefly.

LOST. Hands down. Ask me on my deathbed and I'll still say it.
Breaking Bad is also great but I didn't even start watching live it until season 5 so that takes some of it away for me. Hitting "Next Episode" on Netflix for S1-4 lowered the impact for some reason. Watching 5 live was brilliant.
Maybe its just me but waiting a week between episodes really makes me care about a show more. For example if I never watched LOST and binged it on Netflix I might not like it as much. Anyway LOST, GoT, and BrBa in that order. True Detective S1 and Arrested Development are up there too.

Damn, those were great times! I really miss those days

And the season finales? Oh forget it they ruined me. And the opening sequences of the premieres were always great too. I'll admit the time travel thing wasn't the best but whatever, still great.

I remember that like it was yesterday. My mind was a mess for like 2 weeks. I was calling people afterwards and freaking out with them. Good times. Haven't thought about that in a while.

I don't really want to say Friends, but it's a show I've been watching for well over 15 years and I can still rewatch the same episodes and enjoy them just as much now as I did 10 years ago, so. Yeah, Friends. Me, too! And it always makes me laugh! Each character on the show is my favorite character on the show. For my all time favorite, though, I'd have to say Game of Thrones, but LOST is right behind it. (Lost! How could I forget that when I was listing TV shows on the other thread? )

My all time favourite show will have to be Six Feet Under. Nothing compares to it. And the final three episodes were absolutely perfect and heart-wrenching. I've never cried so much in my life.
Other shows that I really, really enjoyed and have a special place in my heart: Buffy Angel Breaking Bad Lost Alias Veronica Mars Dexter S1-S4 24 S1-S5
Shows I love that are still on air: Obviously Game of Thrones Hannibal Shameless US Orange is the new Black The Walking Dead Daredevil
