In one of the HBO recap videos, Kit says that Dominic Carter played the scene so well with Janos Slynt pleading for mercy it made it all the more difficult for him to keep himself together to finish it. THAT is when actors know they are doing something they truly love ... the moment they realize the other actors and the story is moving them to real emotions and not just acting. So Dominic Carter gets honorable mention from me for that scene for sure! Everyone's said they felt sorry for him for a brief moment. I had to keep telling myself "He's a nasty little shit!" (in my best Brienne voice) because I knew Jon had to go through with that beheading or his leadership would be questioned.

Gwen. Not keen on how D&D have handled her and Pod at all, but damn she gave a great performance tonight. Really sold the bitter, self-loathing feeling when she was telling Pod about the Ball. I...I think I have some dust in my eye, 'Scuse me....was almost as difficult as her book line about her father deserving better than her  So yes, she was by far my favourite performance this episode. |
