day dreamer Wait So he handed him her vagina ?? How ?? What ?? It's in the 5th or 6th episode. He said the cops literally handed him her vagina wrapped up in a cloth which I call 100% bullshit on. Even as a scare tactic with a prop.

Either way I liked Koob until this episode now I'm a lil shook. I don't think he did it either way. Maskell got some losers from around town (Edgar, Billy) to beat up some nun and kill her and hide the body. But since he was creepy, he had to flaunt it to Jean or whatever her name is. Also maybe Russell knew something. Idk. That's my current hypothesis anyway.

That letter and the vagina thing are way too suspect.

A cop, frustrated and in the heat of the moment, goes way over the line and shows him that to try to break him down. I guess I can buy that. Cops have done way worse before. Either way, that's super gross and I don't at all understand the logistics of it.

Either way, that's super gross and I don't at all understand the logistics of it. Okay the vagina thing...that was weird, creepy and gross. The cop investigating him at the time (I forget his name, Bud something or other) really believed Koob did it...it would seem logical to suspect the pseudo-boyfriend/love interest. They had no idea what Maskell was up to, or wasn't making the connection between he and Cathy. Anyway, since Mr. Kingeomer works in law enforcement, I asked him about it and he said that as far he knows vaginas are not removed during autopsy. Yes, they are inspected but not removed. I really felt that the documentary should have asked Werner Spitz (the corner, not sure if you got to his episode yet) about that. He opined when he did Cathy's autopsy, the way she was found suggested sexual assault (shirt down at the waist, skirt bunched up at the waist) but he could not be certain SPOILER FOR TMI because the decomposition and damage to her vagina/uterus/nether regions if you will from varmits was too much ..As a result, I doubt Koob was given actual vagina during the interrogation. Like you said using a prop to make Koob believe that is very possible. And the cops kept saying they were close to breaking Koob when they were told to back off of him. I don't think Koob killed her. I don't think he's trustworthy either, but he did sound genuinely disturbed and upset about the supposed vagina and said to this day he would never forgive that cop for that.

I can't even see a cop thinking to do something like that. That would take a lot of time to look convincing.

I can't even see a cop thinking to do something like that. That would take a lot of time to look convincing. That's also ran through my mind too. I have a hard time believing Koob because I doubt that letter he claims to have received from Cathy. This vagina story doesn't ring completely true--like we've said, no way they got that off of Cathy's body and it would take a lot of time to do a convincing job of it that a cop doesn't have time for or would have thought of. But at the same time, I'm not convinced that Koob had anything to do with Cathy's murder. It would have been interesting to see what the letter Cathy sent to her sister said. Was it handwritten or on a typewriter? Her sister seems convinced it was from Cathy, so I suspect the envelope was handwritten..so I just don't know...

I finished HBO's The Jinx. I put this off for a while. I liked Andrew Jarecki's other documentary Capturing The Freidmans but I felt like he let his bias of case get in the way a bit, especially towards the end. I was afraid I would feel the same way about this. You could tell he almost went that route too. In the last episode he says he believes something Robert Durst tells him and someone off camera goes "are you fucking kidding me?" but overall this was a really good series and quick watch. Fascinating stuff.

Watched I Am Not Your Negro today. The director, Raoul Peck, came to my school and took some questions after the screening. It was really good.
