Asshai a city shrouded in mystery and darkness . The city drinks the sunlight and the river Ash is dark and glooms at night . Up river lies the corpse city of Stygai , where even shadowbinders fear to set foot. Dragons and demons are rumored to live in the Shadowlands . Wtf is going on with this place ?
I personally belive that the Shadowlands is the home to twisted beings just like the WW , but the difference is that the beings in the Shadow are fire monsters , a fiery version of the WW. So we have a dragons and fire monsters roaming this dark land . I think Asshai once was the center of a great civilization but something went terribly wrong and the people living turned into monsters .
My theory is that Asshai is actually guarding the realms of men from the monsters in the Shadowlands just like the Wall is keeping the WW away . The shadowbinders is then the Asshai'I version of the NW , using shadow to keep dragons and fire demons out of the human world .
Thats my toughts on Asshai . Would be intersting to hear your ideas aswell , this place is so mysterious that im almost loosing my mind .
